6 moMy gut response would be a very decisive NO ! But never having the experience I really can’t say with absolute certainty assuming you mean forgiving them and trying to continue the relationship.
Why? , because it’s not an accident is it? , in my head there is no justification for cheating in that sense and I would never be convinced it would be a one off and never happen again. The pathology / psychology of cheating just cries “ I’m broken “ and in such a way that I’m too close to be of any support to them , and so I’m OUT.
In that scenario both the “friend” and wife would be out of my life … forever.00 Reply

6 moNO, divorce incoming. I have zero tolerance for infidelity no exceptions.
Unless your open and practicing a lifestyle such as swinging, and in an expected monogamous relationship, the relationship died the moment I find out you cheated.

6 moNope. Never in a million years. I'm not forgiving my Husband for sleeping with anyone else outside our marriage. That's a non negotiable and a deal breaker. Needless to say that the friendship would also be over for me and my friend.

Yikes, that's a massive red flag waving right there 🚩! As a relationship coach here to sprinkle some magic on Girls Ask Guys, trust me when I say forgiveness is an individual journey, but betrayal like this rocks the foundation of trust and respect. It's like stepping on a LEGO barefoot, no fun! Healing takes time, communication, and sometimes professional help. Ultimately, it's your heart and your call. Be true to yourself and what you need in a relationship to be happy. 💔💪

I have not been in that situation, so maybe it is easy for me to say no, but I will say it anyway with a note to say “maybe I would think about it differently if it happened.” But, the answer is no, I might like to forgive them, but I don’t think I could, either him or the friend.
00 Reply4.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No because that is cheating , why would you forgive them for cheating on you?

6 moI probably could, but i wouldn’t. Rewarding bad behavior has never ended bad behavior in the entire tragic history of humanity. If you disrespect me, you permanently lose access to me. Full stop.

6 moif she did it without any discussion or for selfish reasons then no, as she has disregarded our relationship boundaries and trust, if we had discussed it before hand and agreed it was acceptable then forgiveness would not be needed. It depends on your lifestyle, sexual practices, honesty, and transparency.

6 moIt wouldn't matter if I did, that's who she is. I fell for someone else, not a woman that would do that. In fact I wouldn't be friends with a woman like that and I wouldn't even want to do business with her.

6 moNo. I could not. That’s unforgivable. Cheating is a deal breaker even with just a boyfriend or girlfriend, let alone a spouse, let alone with a friend.

If we change our views & expectations of what marriage is then the question is moot. The war is over (if you want it).

But if you are in an open relationship then, depending on your particular relationship agreement, it probably isn't cheating. That is completely different.
I practice polyamory. We play for love, not for sex.
The nitty-gritty of what you agree with your partner matters.
If your actions are in line with your relationship agreement then I think your actions are 100% fine. If they aren't then it is cheating.

What's the point in getting an open relationship a relationship is supposed to signify commitment you can do what you do in the open relationship without being committed to anybody and just live your life and sleep with whoever you want why go through the extra hoopla if you don't have to if I'm getting the milk for free I don't want to buy the cow
