How can I get him to initiate a conversation?

So all of the signs point to this guy liking me (I'm not talking silly things like "OMGHELOOKEDATME" either) except for one: while texting, he never initiates the conversation. During the week our only form of communication is texting, because he's ridiculously busy working till the wee hours of the morning. However, he never texts me first. I went a day without texting him to see if he would, but he didn't. Otherwise, it seems certain that he likes me, but this really bothers me. Am I overreacting, or should I worry?

I learned a great truth from a comedian. He said that guys do things and girls talk about things. 95% of relationship difficulties result in misunderstanding this basic fact.

Bunch of guys get together and go do something. When they're back with their S/O they get asked "So what did you talk about? "

"Uh, nothin'. "

Bunch of girls get together and talk about stuff. When they're back with their S/O they get asked "So what did you guys do? "

"Uh, nothin'. "

Guys are doers, not talkers. This goes for texting too. Now if you get him talking about what he's doing. There you go.

Well if he is really busy at work, he may not want to get in trouble for texting too much. Does he call or text you after he gets off?

Weekends he initiates texts. but this has only been going on for a few weeks haha, so its not that often.

Well if he initiates on weekends, I would say don't stress about it :)

Just chalk it up to him being busy at work.
