This is really profound and glad you can share your honesty. Religion will always make people do things to "validate" them as good people and earn their right to heaven. But you can only have true freedom in Jesus Christ when you believe. God's grace is unmerited so no good deed can save us but only through Jesus Christ alone. I hope that you will find the answers you need and God loves you. Have a great day!

I agree men can marry 4 women. But they must treat them equally. Prophet Mohammed used to treat his wives so nicely. And we are supposed to follow him. Men can't have "sex slaves" or whatever, don't know where you got this from as it's forbidden for men to see foreign women ( u probably understand what i mean). I know my English sux but at least i could make these points clear.
Very interesting read! Thanks for sharing! I am glad, that you made up your own mind :) I wish you luck in whatever path you choose. I can only imagine it being very hard to break free from rigged religions. Stay liberated girl!

I was brought up into an interfaith religious household. My father was Muslim, my mum Hindu. My Hindu background had always been thrown aside and talked down upon by my father. I made a huge decision to follow one religion, Hinduism. I did what made me happy and you did too. I admire your honesty and bravery, it is not easy straying away from the crowd. I know I may get hate, but it's a decision.
Thanks for sharing! it's always nice to listen to someone's story. It's heartwarming and I like you for being such a courageous individual. Keep it up! :)
I love how you structured this positive response without mentioning religion at all, because the religious aspect isn't the point of her mytake it's the expression of self and it's really quite refreshing seeing someone being positively encouraging without trying to slip in their own propaganda if you will... and I thank you for this.
Then you left because of the people who practice extremism, not what the religion actually teaches. And since you've read the Qur'an thoroughly according to you, don't tell me you left because of what the religion actually teaches lol. And you would know weather you've studied the Qur'an more then me? Why are you upset as we are having a discussion?
@ThisDudeHere Yea I did didn't I lol. But yes of course those experiences had a HUGE role to play in her decision. But I truly believe she left for the wrong reason.
If the Qur'an is peaceful how do you explain these verses about murdering unbelievers in the Qur'an: 2:191-193; 2:244; 2:216; 3:56; 3:151; 4:76, 86, 95, 104; 5:103, just for starters?
@askaway2012new Are YOU aware that YOU yourself sound stupid for bashing people about their own opinions and decisions? If you have nothing good to say, leave. Yea, you may disagree with her decision of leaving Islam, like many others, but please, say it respectfully? And dont you dare say "this seems as a scene in a movie." about someone else describing their experience, and saying someone and their story is " irrelevant". Your existence is probably irrelevant though. And how would you know that @esahc07 hasn't read those verses? Are you making assumptions? Can you read his mind? I think the fuck not. Yea I'm young, but im not going to let someone like you just bash people.
@mszuan 1/kid, the story is irrelevant because it does not contain new information, that's what i meant. If you enjoy such a news and stories i will provide you some links of the stories of Muslims who left Islam. I respect their choice, and i stated that in my comment.
2/He mentioned some verses against his point, so i come to a conclusion that he didn't read them.
@mszuan Look how @esahc07 ruined this thread when he mentioned unintentionally a verse which refutes the claim of those who left Islam.
I have no benefits from debating others' choices, but since he mentioned the verse 2/216, its better to know why i called him stupid, because the 2/217 stated that there is no punishment for those who leave Islam in this life.
(.. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you turn back from their faith and die in unbelief their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter)
I read your entire Mytake (which is quite rare in itself) and I know for a fact that you have made a hasty judgement. I could literary debunk each of your point right now but I am not going to do that. It's not me who's gonna burn for eternity in hell. Bye felicia.

islam is horrible. i never understand how anyone can defend it. if you read the quran and hadith, there's no way you can possibly think it is good
I can't help but compare Islam to that *super nice* mother who "laughs" everything off so that other parents don't know she's actually a psychotic bitch (even though they've already figured it out).
You have experience this kind of bad things of Islam in your life because, you might be a Pakistani. I am Malaysian and Asian, nothing like that happen to me. So far, Asian is not like that. Only Arabs, Pakistans, Indian and bla bla bla... I am sorry for you. I am a muslim and Asian and I don't wear hijabs ;P like you.
Quran (4:89) - "They wish that you should reject faith as they reject faith, and then you would be equal; therefore take not to yourselves friends of them, until they emigrate in the way of God; then, if they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them; take not to yourselves any one of them as friend or helper."
Sahih Bukhari (52:260) - "... The Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' "
Sahih Bukhari (83:37) - "Allah's Apostle never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: (1) A person who killed somebody unjustly, was killed (in Qisas,) (2) a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and (3) a man who fought against Allah and His Apostle and deserted Islam and became an apostate."
@RegularTK421 that prase from Quran you have shared is about the "ex-muslims" who try to make conflict between other muslims or ho mean harm to those around. The next sentence says they are not clashing with you, meaning to harm you, then don't do anything bad to them. (Like in Ottoman empire for examole, t was ruled by the caliph-leader of uslims (before tho) and many religions existed together in peace, they were even treated by their religions' laws.)
About the hadith, Hz. Muhammed said that "before" the treatment for "ex-muslims" came into Quran because the treatment for that was like that in the previously come religions such as Christianity. You can't just take a part of a book to understand all of it... I might not be so knowledgeable but I'm not ignorant of my religion, my not having heard of this is simply because I never needed to do anything about someone leaving Islam, nor anyone logical would feel the need to except telling them to reconsider their decision - kindly too
@Hikari2001 That might explain Quran 4:89, but not the hadiths or other verses. Also, if they leave Islam and revert to Judaism, they are to be killed. It doesn't matter if they cause trouble or not.
Ali burnt some people and this news reached Ibn 'Abbas, who said, "Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the Prophet said, 'Don't punish (anybody) with Allah's Punishment.' No doubt, I would have killed them, for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' ββSahih al-Bukhari, 4:52:260
Malik related to me from Abd ar-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abd al-Qari that his father said, "A man came to Umar ibn al-Khattab from Abu Musa al-Ashari. Umar asked after various people, and he informed him. Then Umar inquired, 'Do you have any recent news?' He said, 'Yes. A man has become a kafir after his Islam.' Umar asked, 'What have you done with him?' He said, 'We let him approach and struck off his head.' Umar said, 'Didn't you imprison him for three days and feed him a loaf of bread every day and call on him to tawba that he might turn in tawba and return to the command of Allah?' Then Umar said, 'O Allah! I was not present and I did not order it and I am not pleased since it has come to me!' ββAl-Muwatta, 36 18.16
Hanafi β recommends three days of imprisonment before execution, although the delay before killing the Muslim apostate is not mandatory. Apostates who are men must be killed, states the Hanafi Sunni fiqh, while women must be held in solitary confinement and beaten every three days till they recant and return to Islam.[82] Maliki β allows up to ten days for recantation, after which the apostate must be killed. Both men and women apostates deserve death penalty according to the traditional view of Sunni Maliki fiqh.[81] Shafi'i β waiting period of three days is required to allow the Muslim apostate to repent and return to Islam. After the wait, execution is the traditional recommended punishment for both men and women apostates.[81] Hanbali β waiting period not necessary, but may be granted. Execution is traditional recommended punishment for both genders of Muslim apostates.[81] Ja'fari β waiting period not necessary, but may be granted according to this Shia fiqh.
What sarcasm? I'm dead serious! Islam comes from word "Salam" which means peace. It is supposed to be a religion of peace. It's so strange people keep talking about murder.. in connection of these incredible religious folks! Maybe you know more and could shed some light about this issue?

I'm happy that you did. Islam is an evil religion and ideology, and I'm glad you have seen the light. Thanks for your mytake.

Congratulations, genuinely. I wish the best for you.
As a Muslim myself I plead you to study the Holy Qur'an. It shall open up a whole new world. Islam is nothing of what you described. Best wishes 😉.
She wouldn't have described it as such if she hadn't experienced it that way.
@ThisDudeHere I didn't say she didn't experience it that way.
But you implied that her experience doesn't matter and that she can't describe things the way she sees them.
I promise I read the Quran more than you have, and know about Islam more than you do. Please make intensive research before arguing about something.
Then you left because of the people who practice extremism, not what the religion actually teaches. Oh lion, Don't take this story seriously.
@askaway2012new?
She pretended that she was homeless in order to get in the mosque and discover the "barbarian" face of Islam, this seems as a scene in a movie.
The thing that we have to take seriously is that there are some muslims who left Islam.
@askaway2012new I bet. But you're thinking she made a mistake also?
I don't care about the story or the person who wrote it.
In internet the person and the story are irrelevant, only the deatals matter.
If the Qur'an is peaceful how do you explain these verses about murdering unbelievers in the Qur'an:
2:191-193; 2:244; 2:216; 3:56; 3:151; 4:76, 86, 95, 104; 5:103, just for starters?

@mszuan Islam is the religion of peace. Quite a few Muslims do not practice it properly, thus giving it a bad name. π
@Asad1ONE1 I know! Many people "abuse" it :/
@mszuan Yes and this is why I believe she overlooked it.
@Asad1ONE1 ahhh i getchu, but personally I myself am not Muslim, but I respect both view sides :)
@mszuan True
Thanksπ
@mszuan Look how @esahc07 ruined this thread when he mentioned unintentionally a verse which refutes the claim of those who left Islam.

I am not personally Muslim, but I really admire your courage to write about this, despite the controversy. You do you girl, and all the best of luck!
I read your entire Mytake (which is quite rare in itself) and I know for a fact that you have made a hasty judgement. I could literary debunk each of your point right now but I am not going to do that. It's not me who's gonna burn for eternity in hell. Bye felicia.

You are a very brave woman...
Thank you very much!
Actually I left Islam because of the same reasons and to be honest, I am much more happy right now
Are you turkish?
In countries which are administered by Islam, punishment for leaving Islam is killing.
You have experience this kind of bad things of Islam in your life because, you might be a Pakistani. I am Malaysian and Asian, nothing like that happen to me. So far, Asian is not like that. Only Arabs, Pakistans, Indian and bla bla bla... I am sorry for you. I am a muslim and Asian and I don't wear hijabs ;P like you.
here's why? just say the word Islam and thats all i need to know on why you left it
Why would ex-muslims be executed? I am a Muslim never heard of rhat there's no forcing in Islam that's a hadith

Sahih Bukhari (89:271) - A man who embraces Islam, then reverts to Judaism is to be killed according to "the verdict of Allah and his apostle."
Sahih Bukhari (84:57) - [In the words of] "Allah's Apostle, 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'"
Looks like the Quran and the hadith teach otherwise.
@RegularTK421: Oh the poor ignorance of Muslims of their own religion.. Thanks for sharing.

In Saudi Arabia, if a muslim left the religion, the punishment is killing.
Afraid of leaving? Threats? I don't understand. Why should everyone ever be afraid if Islam is a religion of peace?
If someone lives in a Islam state, and were to leave Islam, they'd be killed
But how? These peaceful, religious people.. kill? What about "the religion of peace" part?
sir clearly you haven't read the whole take and decided to jump on with some opinion mixed with sarcasm
What sarcasm? I'm dead serious! Islam comes from word "Salam" which means peace. It is supposed to be a religion of peace. It's so strange people keep talking about murder.. in connection of these incredible religious folks! Maybe you know more and could shed some light about this issue?
actually sir Islam= surrender
Salam= Peace
and those are two different words in Arabic :)
But they come from the same root, essentially, when everyone "surrenders" (to God) then there's peace, right?
nope,, there is nothing in islam saying if you surrender to god all humanity would live in peace
How so? Anyway, was not that an unwritten rule, something obvious which doesn't need to be openly said?
no my friend you can't interpret any religion lines without studying it,,, reading an article about Judaism on the internet doesn't make you enough of an expert to know their ultimate purpose
Judaism was an example
Another example of blaming the quran for the actions (misrepresentation) of 'muslim'.
