I believe two things make a Christian righteous before God and successful at life, they are:

The Pursuit of God’s Wisdom and the Pursuit of God’s Goodness. These two pursuits lead to incremental gains in life, ascending you up the ladder of life to infinity, or at least while your alive. How much wisdom or goodness you gain, depend on you and your pursuit of God.

First he needs to exist which hasn't been proven. But if he is all knowing, all powerful, unchanging, timeless, etc... why did he need to kill all the humans and start over? He should have been able to see that would happen, and if he loved his creation why would he create them just to kill them? Then with the "unchanging" aspect he changed his mind and made himself in the form of Jesus (who there is also no proof of existing) be born just so he could have himself killed to absolve all of the sins that he should have already known about so he didn't have to destroy the world again. But somehow later on the apocalypse will come and the four horseman will rule over the Earth and all of the people remaining from the rapture. And he will have let this happen to the creations which he "loves"?

I am not trying to be disrespectful, but I just want to throw my opinion out there. First, to me, the exsistence of God has been proven through things that I have seen with my own eyes. While it seems like God could have done better by knowing what was all ready going to happen, he did. He loves us so much that he gave us a choice to either live a good life or throw ourselves off a cliff. If you were to look through history ( I am a history nerd), there is more evidence that Jesus exists then one might first believe. I would recommend either reading the book or watching the movie, "The Case for Christ". The end of Earth, however, is up for debate. No one knows exactly why God chooses to do things the way he does. You could liken it to someone carving a statue out of stone. The carver might start one place and leave it unfinished to start another. No one know why he did it, but in the end, it comes out to be a beautiful carving. Some things are too big for us to understand.

@AndrésC64 I think God does give a choice because he does not force us to believe in him. You don't even have to admit he exists. He lets us choose if we want to follow him or not. Personally, I have gotten quite angry at God for several reasons. I was adopted, but have recently found that my adoptive parents are emotionally abusive. I am angry at him for that. But, what good does it do for me to be angry with him. He is God after all. I know everyone has a different opinion on God because of their own experiences. I really appreciate it. Everyone is welcome to believe what they believe.

Actually it is. You dont have to do anything except accept a pardon. If you were given a pardon by the courts would you say they took away your free will? No, youd take the pardon and go on with your life.

@Rambling010 you say I'm ignorant, but the fact is you have no real proof of god and it's OK that you are upset by that fact. But the real reason you should be upset is that you don't have proof of the existence of any god and you were sold that bill of goods by the people you trusted. You have no idea what I have researched, or how my athiesm came about. You just hurl insults at me because you have no real defense of the god you so desperately want to be real.

The fact that you say you would trust someone who believes in unicorns before you would trust someone who believes what people told them to believe means you should not trust yourself. How did you get your faith? It is because people who raised you and who you grew up around believed in the fairy-tale and you believed right along with them and are a product of that belief system. That is not your fault or anyone else in your position, it is however your fault that you would use faith when faith is not a path to truth. Faith is used when someone has no reasonable justification for their, beliefs plain and simple.

And no that's not the new normal for people to be atheists (87% of US believe in god from a 2017 poll.), I started becoming an athiest since I was around ten, after going to Sunday school and questioning things. The questions were met with "Have faith", "He works in mysterious ways" but never any real answers and that is because there are none.

I've been on here for years coming and going under different names. I'll talk to you a few times and talked about my love of God. You seem to be very judgmental. Not one time have you even said one word to me. You seem to be more worried about what other people are doing then what your doing. Are you sure that you're in love with God or you're in love with some kind of moral code?
