Do you find people practice religious favouritism or hatred based on your affiliation?

When I got laid off because of CoVid, my boss told us on our last combined date of work that she had a prophetic dream about the pandemic before it happened and that she had been getting prophetic dreams for years, that is how I discovered she was a Christian just like me, since employers rarely discuss their religion at work. My Muslim manager also watched me when the Christian boss was away on vacation and refused to act as my job reference even though I was one of her favourite employees because I got a Muslim co worker fired for making racist comments towards me at work. My Christian boss promised to act as my reference because she knew I studied religion in University and was likely to be Christian.

Never had an issue about anything related that I’m aware of. I’ve always argued or discussed sensitive topics around politics and religion with folks in the same position or positions of authority over me.

I mean speaking from a Muslim perspective we have a saying “iman (faith) is thicker than blood” so essentially when you’re Muslim it’s kinda like you’re part of one huge family, so we’re supposed to treat each other that way. That said, we’re supposed to treat non-Muslims with kindness too, unless say they’re rude to us in some way, insult our religion for example, then it’s best we just ignore them and disassociate with them- but if they apologize we should forgive them.

Your boss just bullshit you to stop you going to the tribunal over getting laid off. That Muslim manager didn't want the drama that you bring. Hence didn't vouch for you. You didn't get much of a degree or social circle by the reads of things.

They could. In most businesses here in the United States, it’s illegal to ask in a job interview what a person’s religion is, as it can lead to discrimination. Religious employers, now that’s a different story.

I’ve seen mostly hatred. Hatred to those of different religions, political ideas, orientation etc.

I got my hours cut and basically chased off a job because my Christian manager found out I was atheist. So yeah, it seems to be a thing.

I’ve definitely lost friends once they realize I’m a Christian. I’ve also been discriminated against by other religious people from other religions.
