Why Don't Guys Care About Their Appearance!!?

Question

its soooo frustrating because I'm straight but i feel like I'm always checking out other girls because their hot as fuck and all the guys look like shit all the time.. why don't y'all try?

this is a serious question. sometimes i wish all girls would get together and let ourselves go so guys know what it feels like lol

guys please tell me why? girls tell me if you feel the same or I'm i alone on this one?

Where do you live exactly? I think the demographics of where one lives plays a good role in the lifestyle choices that are there to be made by either genders. I live in LA and there's SOOOOO manydifferent sub-cultures, lifestyles, attitudes going on that it creates a good diversity of styles that look good on either gender. Its a matter of picking one or the complete opposite of not picking one. I personally, take care of my self. I buy cloths that are in season at times and all year round. I have colognes, belts, jeans, slacks, shirts, tshirts, hats, watches, shoes, boots, and some high end personal hygiene products for days! I just don't know where you are or to what style and attitude you are looking for but maybe a change of scenery might be what you need. Just saying.

I do see what you mean and it's honestly odd. I think it's because guys aren't really told to try these days. Instead, they're told to buy girls gifts and all that stuff and expected to see women as a gender that doesn't have any physical attraction almost. But the truth is they are like guys and do need physical attraction.

As a guy I do feel girls focus on their appearances yes, but in all the wrong ways. They never exercise and just hide their imperfections with makeup and stuff.

They do. you're maybe somewhere you don't see much classy men. I lived between them my whole life. but being good looking in men is different than women. they don't have to necessarily try as hard as women to look good. their beauty is in their simplicity. beautiful men are generally more beautiful than beautiful women.

Several reasons:

1. Because in life, there are things that are more important than appearances e. g. a caring nature, hard work, dedication, professionalism, honesty, loyalty etc. When I deliberately don't care about my appearance, I'm sending out a very strong message that I would much rather be admired for these other qualities.

2. Appearances fade with time. People get old, bald and wrinkly. But a beautiful, caring heart will never lose its beauty.

3. When I was a kid, I was taken out shopping for clothes a lot by female relatives. The comments were endless. This isn't "nice", that doesn't fit, this doesn't match, that's too expensive, this is too cheap etc, etc. I got so utterly sick of all that that I became determined NEVER to care what I looked like again! I'm a slob and PROUD of it!!!

4. In every country, there are medals given out for bravery. The highest honour for a soldier is not going to the palace in crisply ironed kit and polished boots to receive a medal from the King. The highest honour for a soldier is to have his medal or promotion handed to him immediately "in the field", grubby kit and all, because what he did was so outstanding that the reward can't wait. It must be handed to him immediately.

we do. or at least, i do. i resent that gay men are the only fashionable ones, straight men need to be on their game more. i'm sick of hearing masculinity used synonymously with ugly. But style is more than just what you wear. A couple weeks ago, i was on the bus in my leather jacket and aviators, i decided i'd just stay motionless, meditative, for the entire two hour trip. Apparently people can sense a sort of aura, because the moment this guy got on the bus he said yo man i just wanna say you got some style, most people are out here fiddling with their iphones and can't stay still. So its more than just what you wear, its how you present yourself and most guys are clueless to this.

because I am not standing for an hour in the washroom or in my closet deciding what to wear. if I wear a dress shirt it is to something important, not some restaurant. I hate wearing jeans and dress pants, they are uncomfortable, and oh, so are ties of any kind, shirts with collars, doing my hair with gel or anything makes my scalp itch (but that's probably more personal. I feel really uncomfortable in dressy clothing, I have better things to do.

Many guys don't put much effort into their appearance because women tell them that it's not that important, or they know that appearance is important but just don't have a clue what the fuck women want, or they don't have much interest in the modern promiscuous woman and just don't give a fuck what they want.

It is partly to do with society. Society puts less pressure on guys to look good than it does on girls. Some guys do care tho. I care. I try to look my best (clothes that look good together), smell good and try to make sure my hair looks tidy and good. :)

I care. Currently phasing out my old wardrobe for nicer and better looking clothes. I get my hair cut weekly, I shave every other day. Shower twice a day. Appearance and hygiene is very important to me! Not just to impress the ladies, but boost confidence! It's awesome to look in the mirror and just be like damn I look sharp!

Feel free to not wear make up or shave and so on - I won't complain. I'd certainly rather girls spent less time fussing over their appearance then be expected to that myself.

Anyway I find it attractive for a girl to have the confidence (or whatever you'd call it) to walk about and present herself without spending hours tweaking her appearance.

I agree 💯. 1 out a 100 men take care of their appearance, and I am being generous here. A good number of women put the effort in and look more than presentable. Guys (the ones I have come across) only complain but do nothing to improve their appearance.
