How do you feel about the transgender "they/them pronouns" movement (READ DETAILS)?

As I was on Facebook today I watched a supposedly public service announcement for transgender movement they and them pronouns. I don't know if you guys have seen this video but I will link it below.

My question is the following how do you feel about the transgender movement in general? I support transgender rights as well as gay and lesbian and bisexual rights as well I have no problem with that class of people. But after watching this video I truly understand why people get so upset about people making big and huge deals out of something that you're asking me to accommodate for you. I truly believe that the transgender movement has been given inches and they're now requesting miles and I just don't particularly like it so I wanted you to check the video out see how you feel about it and then please post an opinion.

I think different pronouns are the stupidest shit ever.

When someone transitions from female to male, he is a MAN, so I will say HE to him!
When someone transitions from male to female, she is a WOMAN and I will call her SHE.

You do not transition to trans, thats just the path, not the goal!

I always hear, that they want to be integrated and treated equally, yet somehow they want to be special by not using the obvious pronouns. Thats not how integration works, goddammit, am I that biggoted or are these folks moronic? can't tell anymore.

And I guess, this opinion wil get loads of dislikes... guess what, I dont care and won't change my opinion, unless you give me good reasons why I should.

See and that's my issue with the video in general if you're a transgender man trying to be a woman then why would you not relate to she or her? And if you're a transgender woman trying to be a man or a spiring to be a man why would you be offended or disrespected by me calling you sir he or his? That doesn't make any sense someone can't say that they don't associate themselves with either gender that doesn't make any sense cuz you can't be a man aspiring to be a man you can't be a woman aspiring to be a woman because that wouldn't make you transgender

I respect the LGBTQ community, but I won't conform to the whole "they/them" pronouns, hell I don't even coform to the whole non-binary and multiple genders. If they think that I don't respect them so be it. The far left are hypocrites in their own right, and are pushing their ideas onto others just like the far right that they despise. I'm a centrist with left ideals, socially and economically. So i'm pretty ashamed that the left can't realize that they're too "progressive" for their own good. I'm looking at you california.

I'm going to agree in part and dissent in part. I agree with you that they do not need to be enabled however I do not believe being transgender is a mental illness that needs to be helped. I don't think there's anything wrong with being transgender nor is there something that stigma should be put on calling in a mental illness and the reason I say that is because there are plenty of people who live their lives as a normal men or normal women and dress up or become transgender during sexual acts or during specific moments and periods of the day. But they understand that they are men and they understand that their women. It's the people who carry out that fantasy and wanted to be a reality that make me wonder to myself if it is a mental illness I still don't believe even that is a mental illness I think it's a preference and a choice and it's not something you're born with if that's what they're saying.

They are still the ones more excluded from society AND job opportunities. Respect is the least anyone could give to another human being so that's shouldn't even be a thing in their movement, it should be common sense. But most of them haven't got even that.
What do you mean about "now requesting miles"? They are miles away from being treated with minimum respect until this day... They still have a long way to go.
And also, coming from my country that's the most dangerous in the world for a transgender, this changes are been taken TOO SLOW to those who fear for their lives just by existing.

I agree with you in part and I descent on this opinion and park here is my problem with them and they pronouns if you are a transgender man aspiring to be a woman then why are you offended when I call you by the pronouns that go for a woman when that's what you're aspiring to be whether your pre-op or post-op. If you are a transgender woman trying to Aspire to be a man why am I disrespecting you or doing something that is out of line if I call you he or him when that's what you're aspiring to do? That's my problem with the public service announcement in general why should I call you them or they if you don't prescribed to either gender how are you transgender if you're not aspiring to be a gender that you're not? I don't understand how you can be transgender if you're not aspiring to be the gender that you're not and if you're aspiring to be the gender that you're not why would you feel disrespected or not associate yourself with either gender if you are aspiring to be the gender that you're not? If you are a female you can't aspire to be a female cuz then you would be relating to the gender that you already are you can't be a man and aspire to be a man cuz then you would be associating yourself with the gender you already are and that's the question at this point why do I need to use them or they when I'm speaking about a he or a she who doesn't want to be he or she any longer they want to be the other pronoun

And that's my issue with the video if you are transgender meaning you are transforming from one gender to the other gender then why would you need to use them or they pronouns when the obvious truth is if you're a woman seeking to be a man or a man seeking to be a woman. The appropriate pronoun would be that what you're seeking to beat if you're seeking to be a man he him and sir would have no effect on you and if you were a man trying to be a woman then ma'am she and her would have no effect on you it wouldn't be disrespectful because without you trying to transform from one gender to the other gender then you couldn't be transgender

I disagree in some terms. Is it grammatically correct to go them or they when speaking about a specific person or not talking about someone in a pluraleyes form yes it is grammatically correct because if you're asking me if that type of language existed in the 14th century which is mentioned in the video it did and it was phased out but it does exist. I however do not believe it is grammatically correct if you are speaking about someone who is transgender because if them or they don't relate to any gender than how are you transgender what are you transforming from and what gender were you before that doesn't make any sense

I again it disagree with you opinion owner I think more colleges are getting acceptable with them and they pronouns which doesn't make sense if you ask me however I would particularly believe that no college would deny you love them and they pronouns based on their own sensitivity to the transgender issues out there but again I could be wrong but I don't believe that academic writing would not allow those pronouns to be used under that context and not be acceptable. Again I could be wrong and I could be off base without opinion but I don't believe that anyone would want to touch on that sensitive subject and say that is not academically acceptable

STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fields. I know if I use this transgender guidance it would comeback to me as in correct but of course, it could just be the writing style of my engineering field. Chicago Manual is conservative.
