Just because she's a bit on the bigger end doesn't automatically mean that she's unhealthy.. Or anyone else in that sort of category.
You have to remember that not everyone has the same body type.. And women's bodies tend to store more fat than others, for one, but also, secondly, specifically for this woman, her fat simply stores in more noticeable areas.. But if you look closer at her body structure, you'll notice that her face, neck and arms are somewhat more to the thin side.. This is because the body tends to store fat in those areas as a last resort, in a way.
Also, the "fat acceptance" movement isn't about being like "yay! I'm fat! I enjoy the potential health risks and people looking at me in disgust despite the fact that I can't really help having this body!"
No.
It's more about accepting you as you are.. Yes, sure, people can alter and change their bodies, but that doesn't mean that the body that they originally have, they can't accept and love as is. You don't have to hate yourself to work on your health issues to then achieve something loveable.
The "fat acceptance" movement is more about loving yourself all along the way.
If you're fat and seemingly stuck that way, you still don't have to hate yourself.
If you're doing daily exercises to try and lose weight to get that dream body, you don't have to hate yourself for your current one.
That sort of thing.
Also, it's a way to say that the beauty industry has focused on anorexic, skinny females that're starving themselves for "beauty standards" for far too long.. And that anybody with any body type could be beautiful.. It's a way of showing how the other spectrum could be beautiful.
And to show people that this body type can also be accepted..
Hence..
"Fat acceptance"
Just because her body is storing all her fat in her bottom half doesn't mean she's not fat or healthy
She had tummy tuck. Most plus size models do.
That’s why so many of their bathing suits look like granny patties.
Panties
@Jenny01234 I think Kim Kardashian did that to allow her to put on weight on her hips and giant ass
I was pretty sure Kim got ass implants
@LegateLanius on her thighs and hips too?
i don't know
She won't die at 30 from health problems. Most obesity problems are due to abdominal/stomach fat. She's lucky to have an hourglass shape which allows her to put on far more weight with far fewer health issues.
That being said, I don't know who she is. She has the same name as my best friend from high school!
With the way the media works, if any face of any movement they like dies, they will downplay the death while promoting a new poster person... Brainwashing propaganda at its finest.
What reason do you have to think her life will be shorter? She's not very overweight. Body mass is only one factor in health, and it doesn't make the difference you think it does.
Excess weight is linked to
•type 2 diabetes
•high blood pressure
•heart disease and strokes
•certain types of cancer
•sleep apnea
•osteoarthritis
•fatty liver disease
•kidney disease
•pregnancy problems, such as high blood sugar during pregnancy, high blood pressure, and increased risk for cesarean delivery (C-section).
Don't believe the fat acceptance movements lies.
The term "obese" describes a person who's very overweight, with a lot of body fat.
Women with a waist circumference of 80cm (about 31.5in) and a BMI of 30 are considered obese.
That describes Ashley. You only have to look in the non-photoshopped pics at her the slabs of fat on her ass, her hips, her thighs and her ankles which is not normal.
@Astoriana yeah sometimes they have to use x-ray equipment and mri equipment in zoos
@OfDeath yeah, and they might have been healthy weight or even underweight. Genetics play a stronger role in most of these ailments than your weight does. If you’re genetically predisposed to heart disease (as most men are, given that the genes that protect against heart disease are found on the X chromosome), no amount of exercise will save you.
@Astoriana it's not genetics. It usually starts at home with the parents overfeefing their kids. Fat children are costing more than the elderly to take care of but if parents feed their kids out of a trough that's what happens.
Over feeding has nothing to do with it. Weight runs in families. Generally it’s considered neglect to starve your children so they stay skinny... which happens fairly often, given our idea of weight-centric health. A baby is supposed to be pudgy and only feeding them once a day will kill them. But sure, parents over feed their kids. It’s such a problem.
Honestly it’s sad how much you hate fat people. It shows how little you have in your life.
@Astoriana I did die. The toe wounds got infected and I was in an induced coma until they could get the right antibiotics to cure the infection.
After a week they were going to turn off the life support but my girlfriend at the time wouldn't let them and demanded I was moved to a different hospital which I was and they fixed it.
@OfDeath or if you went to a different hospital.
And I honestly don’t believe your story. Girlfriends can’t make medical decisions for you. Secondly, if your septicemia was so severe that they wanted to take you off of life support, then nothing else should have saved you. You’re definitely lying about something.
How boring of you.
@Astoriana yeah genetics, that's why there are legions of fatties waddling about in the United States compared to other places in the world
@Astoriana exactly. That's not genetics, that's stuffing your face and not exercising which is immoral
@Astoriana no it's because most fat parents give their kids the same unhealthy life style they have. If you are over feeding a child they will gain weight and grow larger frames and will likely struggle with their weight for the rest of their lives suffering weight related problems. If your kids are overweight that's not genetics that's child abuse.
I don't know her but she doesn't seem "fat" to me by any stretch of the imagination. I was expecting some kind of beached whale.
I think what the "fat acceptance" movement has tried to be all along - or at least they should have been - is promoting common human decency when dealing with other people. In other words: yes, being obese is unhealthy but that shouldn't be a reason for people to point at you and ridicule you. There's tons of reasons why someone might be obese and most of them know it's unhealthy. Besides, there's many things that are unhealthy, so it seems odd to single out this particular issue. And lastly... maybe being healthy isn't even your goal in life. We are now living in a time where everyone consider self-optimization as a "duh"-type of thing but hey, it's also just an ideology if we're being radical. Maybe your goal is to live fast and die young ;-). Who knows.
So, I'm all for obesity prevention but I don't think anyone should be put in the pillory for being overweight. If that is what this movement is saying, you can sign me up.
beached whale Is what I thought in the second picture.
@PervinMervin29 Me, too...
I agree with you. We seem to think we are doing people a favor by saying accept the body your in. No matter how big they are. It's not right. Because being overweight and even obese is linked to a lot of health problem. Not to mention, heart dieases and much more. We should help people work on their insecurities, as well as encourage them to be healthy. Now it doesn't mean you have to have gleaming abs and rippling muscles... All it means is you have a healthy height too body fat ratio.
Our health service is under serious strain from obesity related problems.
Yes, too much. And the fact that people won't go out there and do some of the things to become a little more healthy is beyond me. I've seen family members die, from so much problems related too obesity. That alone would send me to get some kind of help
I've seen that too. I've seen teams of men taking turns as pallbearers because the deceased was obese.
It's sad. But true.

The fat acceptance movement is a horrible (or excellent) example of PC mentality running amok without conscious consideration of the consequences. If we are to accept fat people without hesitation, why should we not accept cigarette smokers?
Regardless of what happens to Ashley Graham, the PC crowd needs to take a few steps back and look at where the herd mentality led them.
Nope. People die from stupidity every day, doesn’t stop the rest of the population from encouraging more stupidity. Besides, she’s a beautiful, healthy woman.
Nope, the movement will just find another excuse.
It would hurt it, but not because it's true. People are quick to believe whatever they read. However, Ashley Graham isn't that fat. Especially now that she slimmed down. If she died because of weight related issues, then she would have other physical/health issues that occurred for that to happen. Women have weighed much more than her and lived.
Can you not see the slabs of fat on her ass, thighs, hips and ankles. Bill Clinton would be all over that lol
No since she won't... How do I know this?
Because belly fat is the bad fat that kills people, not the butt and thigh fat - that fat is brownish - which is the healthy fat, while belly fat is white and very unhealthy...
Research would help you in this topic.
Meh, my info's a little old. Still, a fat person's fat is white fat. Brown fat is very miniscule int he human body.
www.livescience.com/...hat-is-brown-fat-facts.html
She doesn’t look like she’s that overweight, let alone obese.
Most fat people don’t look like that, so I’m not actually sure tbh. I think they’d end up in denial whichever plus/fat size model died though.
She's borderline obese
I’ve seen her. Def fat
First off this woman doesn't look like she will be dying anytime soon. Second, who am I to accept or reject Ms. Graham? Do you really think she is worried about my opinion, or yours for that matter?
People need to stop focusing on the physical, look at the whole person. and just let them be who they are, unless they ASK for help.
If you died tomorrow and were reincarnated, you could do a lot worse than coming back as Heather Graham!
~JSmith
You are the consumer it's your right to reject her and what she is selling.
You were talking about acceptance, not consumer spending. I can accept her without buying her products. It seems clear to me that your real agenda is to promote shunning what YOU consider to be overweight woman as role models. Ah, the world according to Merv the Perv. Please spare us.
~JSmith
Accepting those promoting obesity is not something one should do
Yes the fattypuffs will lose to the Thinifers once again
Well... I picked "no," because sadly it wouldn't do that, but it's kind of a dumb question man, no offense-- she isn't going to die by 30 of a weight-related problem. It's not going to happen, she's fat but she's not THAT fat.
Yeah but age 30 is when most women put on the beef. So if she's fat now how fat will she be in 2-5 years.
nope. look at all the girls fighting to defend her weight. They're never gonna let it go. Meanwhile, you better keep working out cuz they won't date you without your six-pack or chiseled jaw line or whatever the fuck else. Dang hypocrites.
True
What if instead of fat acceptance we just had people acceptance? Live fat and die young, or live long and prosper? No one can make that choice for you.
True. I still say fatties should have to buy to seats on airplanes, trains, buses, concerts and cinemas
If they use two seats, or one and a half seats, yes of course they should. They should also pay for two seats if they need a seat for their hand luggage.
She is not fat enough for to die at aged 30 unless there is some other stuff going on
en.m.wikipedia.org/.../List_of_the_heaviest_people
Fattest dude ever died at 42 he was estimatef to be 1400 pounds, estimated becahse they couldn't get a scale to accurately measure his weight.
Ashley graham is 201 pounds
Fattest living dude is 1345 pounds and 27
Wow she's wrestler heavy
She will not die from weight related health issues. She might be fat, but she's not that fat.
Fat enough. Obese maybe
I don't get why they give themselves a wedgie instead of just buying a bathing suit thong.
Is it a bathing suit thong or did her massive ass checks swallow her bathing suit?
They shouldn't be shamed but being overweight shouldn't be encouraged, it is one of the main health problems in america
They don't really care about facts they I'll just say it's BS and keep on thinking they are beautiful and healthy at 300 pd's
People just hate to admit the fact that you can be this fat and still be healthy. I don’t get why you guys are so obsessed with peoples weight.
You've proof that you can be that fat and still be healthy?
Over here we have public health warnings about being so fat.
Is that why the NHS is buckling under the weight of overweight patients?
Professor Terence Stephenson in Measuring Up, a report on the nation's obesity crisis by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC).
"It is no exaggeration to say that it is the biggest public health crisis facing the UK today," he says.
The consequences of obesity on our health include diabetes, heart disease and cancer, and people dying needlessly from avoidable diseases.
Pretty sure that she doesn’t have any “weight related diseases” so we’ll never know. 🙂
It wouldn't because they would have another fat plus model to take her place
No, because the feminists are brainwashed beyond reason and logic
It would, but it's not like she's fat... she's thicker than average but definitely not fat.
Her thighs are thicker than most chicks waists at least the ones I know
Well, I doubt she’s gonna die, but looking at her ginormous uncovered ass might kill me. So she hasn’t helped with my fat acceptance.
no because all the megan trainor fans will just say more girls die from anorexia... ofcourse thats not true but when do facts matter
Even if she were to die that early (highly unlikely), I doubt it would change anything.
Hahaha... great question! I hope it will. Just remember fat acceptance =/= body acceptance.
Fat acceptance is a movement that will die off. Literally.
No because there was already a fat acceptence speaker that the obese looked up to that died early
I think she cares about her health more than you do. I think she has a team that watch her diet and work out and checks herself for any health issues every now and then. So don't worry about her.
Low chance of that happening. And besides she looks like she's fine.
she's not that fat tho, she's not morbidly obese, and at that point it is really unhealthy, but sometimes, having some fat on you bones means you live longer...
She's borderline obese. Like there's overweight, fat, obese and morbidly obese
Hips, thighs, ass, ankles and her large frame hides her belly fat.
Plus those models get Liposuction and tummy tucks. That's how Kim got such a fat ass
she looks native American
not that it's a bad thing to look native american? what's wrong with focusing on face and not body all the time?
No the Fat Acceptantance Treatise or F. A. T. would simply eat Ashley Graham.
Well that is a morbid question.
Morbidly obese?
No more than dead models kill pro-ana.
That's hot! I wish I had a lifeguard jet ski.
Nah. Death hasn't stopped people from living.
I don't know why are you bashing her, sure she has some extra pounds, but she is still hot and fuckable. There are actually fat and obese girls out there that are "models", while in reality they should be embarrassed to even walk down the street
How am I bashing her?
Talking about her as part of the "fat acceptence movement". She is not really that fat.
She's 202 pounds and a size 40 waste. Size 40 is classed as obese
Seriously? She looks nowhere near 200 lbs. If thats the case, I stand corrected
Fat acceptance doesn't mean unhealthy...
Being fat is not healthy and is linked to 13 different kinds of cancer. mobile.twitter.com/.../1
Yeah I know but fat doesn't mean you have an unhealthy life. Plus fat acceptance is not promoting being fat. It's accepting that some people are fat and that's their problem, not ours.
No, sjws will never stop
probably.
Her body is nasty dude
Huh? Lost my train of thought..
I don’t think so, they would continue
Don't you mean thick movement
I am not sure.
That is a very good thought.
No it wouldn't.
No..
Yeah
Cruel
