For me when a guy is popular among guys, it is important for me to know what made him popular among girls and what kind of girls are after him. If I see him being popular just for looks and being a bad boy with the only girls liking him being immature teenagers who aren't even done with their puberty then I ain't after that guy.
I wonder if it is important for boys too, what exactly makes her popular. But mostly guys prefer their women to be low-key so I do believe most men wouldn't like it.
I don't find it attractive if a guy is "popular" with other women. That just means I have competition. I think some guys do find it somewhat attractive if they know a woman is that desirable, tho.
Why would I want a girl that has guys chasing her around? I am no cuck and I am not the type to play games. I rather a girl that isn't popular with guys... less competition, more dignified, and I can trust her to be committed to only me.
From experience, girls that are "popular" with guys are promiscuous, have cheated before, play games, and hop from one guy to the next.
If you want to feed your ego, that will happen if lots of guys want her and she chooses you. But if you chose HER in the first place, why would it matter if NO other man wanted her? You do. That's all that matters.

I have no reason not to, until they prove that they are unkind, I have no reason to dislike them.
I don't assume someones personality based off popularity, I wait till I get to see how they behave towards others and towards me, it may be that they are popular because they are friendly, it could be because many guys find them attractive, it could be a mix of both, you won't know till you give them a chance.
Umm... Not really... Not for me, at least. I prefer girls who are popular with other girls. I have found that the ones who are popular with guys tend to be a little too guy-ish for me to really be inspired to get closer to them.
Yes. Men want women who are popular with other men they are quicker to claim them to be in serious relationships. It dont matter how plain or ugly she looks.

Well, I am a scientist and believe in science, but I guess science cannot prove me then, since I wouldn't want to be with a guy who's "popular" among women. I would doubt his capability of focusing on one woman and being loyal since there are too many women around him.

I'd argue it's the opposite. If a guy sees a girl he likes but he sees a different guy talking to her it'll discourage him.
Having a lot of casual guy friends is just fine, but not being a play girl.
