Do you believe that every Ethnic Group deserves an Ethnostate like Israel, where they can practice and preserve their Culture and Heritage?

Yeah, i believe european nations should be their own ethnostate, sweden being swedish, germany being german. I would not mind for example. Germany and sweden slowly merging into one. But i do not want the middle east or africa slowly becoming the "new". I will take any measure to stop that.
I agree.
If you disagree with this question you're antisemitic, we don't want that, do we?

Only if that a) is done democratically and b) doesn’t involve ethnic cleansing.
Basically, just like in the case of Israel, you’d need to offer everyone not of that ethnicity living in that country after the ethnostate has been established full citizenship. Basically, you can’t transport people of another ethnicity en masse on trains to another territory to make it more ethnically homogenous.
And if that then leads to e. g. it only being 60% ethnically whatever, too bad. Your right to a state does not mean ethnic cleansing is then justified. Hence, Israel as of right now consists of more than 20% Arabs and the third party in the Knesset is an Arab party.
For all intents and purposes, it’s likely not feasible because there are constraints from human rights. That could be alleviated by e. g Germany and France starting war against each other, Germany taking over Paris and then all French-speaking individuals leaving because they fear the Germans.
More generally, it’s basically impossible to create ethnostates because there is no political will to do so. Even if you look at Israel, the only reason they have that nation-state law passed last year is simply because Israel has no constitution. It was originally meant to be a secular state, after all.
It’ll be pretty hard to find a single nation in these developed nations where two-third actually supports some form of policy to make their ethnic group the dominant and remove the rest, even in Israel that’s not possible.
So sure, it’s possible for ethnic group if a) it’s democratically and b) doesn’t cause ethnic cleansing. The second option is typically very difficult and the first is basically impossible.
There’s also the matter of how you define culture.
Israel has imported over a million Russians in very short time and like 700k Arab Jews. These are culturally very distinct from your regular Ashkenazi Jew that was more dominant there and mostly in the USA. They also took in a lot of Ethiopian jews, again very different.
To what extent is that violating the culture? Where are the goalposts of culture? You can be sure that Ashkenazim do not consider Sephardim and Mizrahim as having the same culture, and vice versa.
Do people who somewhat share e. g. Dutch culture but have lived all their life in Italy also count as being part of that ethnostate?
So perhaps morally ethnic groups deserve their ethnostate, but it ain’t happening anyway.
>done democratically
>israel

The fundamental difference here is that there effectively was no state when the British mandate was dissolved.
If you want to create an ethnostate out of Germany, you’re gonna need wins in a democratic election and probably change the constitution.
If you’re gonna set up a state in a stateless area, it requires recognition, capacity to control borders, an effective government etcetera. If you at that point grant full rights to people in that given area (though Israel was also subjected by a lot of people leaving for a lot of reasons), you’ve already satisfied democratic obligations to those people.
Mind you, Arabs in Israel do have voting rights.
I mean if Denmark as a nation ceases to exist and you have various parties going to war to set up a nation in that area, you don’t actually need to request permission to each individual if you please may include that town in your borders at an eventual peace-deal.
One argument that can be made is whether people fleeing directly due to scourge of war and the fear thereof would constitute something inherently anti democratic. But then you also get in the problem of whether warfare to sustain your own established nation makes it an undemocratic nation, because people flee because of said violence.
No, most people learn to cope living side by side with other cultures so why shouldn't they? The problem with isolating cultures is it doesn't only preserve them it prevents them from developing. Much of the problems with the middle east start with them cutting themselves off from the rest of the world centuries ago.
Would you want Wales to be overtaken by the Scottish or Irish? Or worse, Muslims from Africa and the Middle East?
Already lot of Irish here plus Italians too. About a quarter of people living in wales were born in England. Without immigrants we'd all have 6 fingers from inbreeding by now
Welsh are still the overwhelming majority. Would you want the Welsh and their culture to disappear?
Japan is 98% Ethnic Yamato Japanese and has been for many tens of thousands of years. They haven't developed six digits.
Welsh culture isn't that different than anywhere else in Britain, probably quite similar to most European countries. Apart from a few small quirks we're not that unique and hardly a separate culture.
I see. Fair enough.
You wouldn't want an African majority right?
Fuck no. Truth betold a lot of English migrate here to get away from black and Asian people.
You can get pills for paranoia you know. People have been race mixing for thousands of years and were still here.
There's not enough arable land on the planet for every particular cultural, religious, tribal or some other designation of people to have their own "state."
I've never thought Israel was a good idea because of the OTHER people who were living in that region at the time. It's been a war ever since! What a mess.
The same would happen with other designated groups and whereever THEY wanted to be.
We have to learn to live with each other in multicultural, diverse countries. There's simply too many of us for it to be any other way.
I don't see anything wrong with people wanting a massive plot of land if they can claim one, as long as they aren't in violation of human rights. Still, people can "practice and preserve their Culture and Heritage" without the need of what you call an ethnostate since communities living within a state is enough to do so.
Yes, although enforcing 100% purity is difficult in modern world, and also unnecessary. Heaving an "ethnostate" in practice, by, for example, strict migration laws and lack of social programs for non-citizens should be enough.
There actually are such states for many ethnic groups, mostly poorer countries, where people don't want to go for easy buck. The problem is, the moment someone get rich - everybody want a piece of that wealth.
It wouldn't bother me theoretically, but it can get dangerous when it becomes a "religious" state because then you feel unsafe if you don't ascribe to the current power's version of that religion.
Yes. Because the last time my country was part of a political union, things didn't end well
"Deserve" has nothing to do with it if history is any guide. If you want your men ethnic state you have to TAKE it, BUILD it, HOLD it; and kill anyone who tries to take it away from you.
Why are people saying no? Only Jewish people have a right to an ethnostate? Racist assholes
If Israel is an ethnostate why are there Arabs living there?
Yes, especially Europeans.
I don't oppose it tbch
Yeah, absolutely
Sounds dumb and pointless
Yes.
