Make something of yourselves and actually work towards a long term goal.

That is how anybody regardless of their race, has made it forward in American society. White people aren’t born with priviledge. Everything we’ve ever earned and produced for ourselves we’ve had to work towards.

You can't judge by color... so enough of that. It is about parents, how motivated and having hope and what baggage they carry with them. Coming here fresh, they start fresh with hope and opportunity and little baggage. I've met these people, Nigerians, Somali's... they work hard, have goals and visions and work on building families. The stuff that made America what it is today. They will succeed, because it's not a racist country as some believe... it's a land of opportunity!

The problem is a lot of people of that color were traumatized in American history, and that is reality. Enslaved, hunted down and murdered or tortured with no amends. There was not so much restitution or compensation. Granted, other cultures have been smashed to bits as well... e. g. Chinese, enslaved Irish, etc... But in AA, the family trauma seems worse and more impactful. Many get stuck in governmental systems, they lose parents to crime, stuck in a poverty mentality and that of..."somebody owes me". That poison pill will destroy any soul. So many thus fail school without strong parental and school support. The mentality and destructive behaviors, values, and traumas permeates in some segments. Watch AA's react now when someone is arrested... their trigger response hearing "handcuffs" is fight or flight... often followed by death, traumatizing a new bunch. There's part of "white" america like this... stuck in govt systems. Breaking the cycle is difficult, it pulls people down constantly. The media supports this "victimhood" because that's what it does... feed on negative emotions. ... which is both true, and false. But perception is reality!

I've seen this for 40+ years now, it's disheartening to see little kids grow up to be stuck in the poverty systems of the mind and heart propagated for generations. NYC full of it.

girlfriend death traumatized a whole new generation to a level we've never seen. I'd bet Africans... weren't so affected by this event, but African Americans, some... many, were severely traumatized. Cycle repeats until it's broken.

I have had meetup discussion almost completely run by African immigrants. A family from Senegal came in and explained their encounters with racism. And put the blame not just on racists. . . but on "White" people. We got into a big disagreement over that of course. And the woman speaking on their behalf even accused African-Americans of being complicit because "we put up with it".

The funny thing when I get customers that travel from Africa they act very polite and sweet they even told me that American black people are crazy. Nothing to do with race. America takes in the best people from Africa and the world. We don't take white crack head criminals from Poland for instance, we don't take in African criminals. You may as well ask why the Jeffersons moved out of the ghetto to where whites lived when they finally got a piece of the pie.

America is "racist" because Leftists (and their black dogs) keep changing the definition. I'm old enough to remember when Racism was disliking someone based on their race, but they changed it a few years back to include "power"- which in effect made it only possible for white people to be "racist."
Now, via "antiracism/ systemic racism" nonsense theory, they've conflated the existence of individual racism with general different outcomes. As long as there are racists they can point to (the standard of which has been lowered via "microaggressions," and "internalized racism/ implicit bias"), AND there are differences in socio-economic outcomes, they argue there must be "widespread, institutionalized, and systemic racism."
This ignores the fact that there are multitude of reasons for differences in outcomes (including black people having lower IQ), and compresses it to a singular (legitimate) cause: racism.
Therefore, as long as there are any differences socio-economically between whites and blacks, this is in itself "proof" of the newly defined "racism," which again means something only white people can do. Any exceptions (such as Africans doing well), or the fact that interracial violence is almost entirely black > white (and Asian for that matter), are ignored.

There is definitely racism in America, which is something that we need to work on. This hurts many people, and I've seen it myself. However, you raise a good point. There is racism in the US but it isn't a racist country. In fact, the extreme majority of all countries are much more racist than the US. We are one of the most diverse countries, so when you consider China, Japan, France, etc these countries are much more ethnically homogeneous than us and have a lot more racism.
So to answer your question - any racism at all is a problem that we should work on stamping out. Fortunately, the US is one of - maybe even the most - welcoming countries of diversity that exists anywhere.
