Now I agree the men's team deserve a 25% pay cut for not winning the world cup. But do you think something similar should happen in other professions, not just in sports?
I'm sure you'll all agree it's a good idea.
Payment depends on demand and supply. Many of my female friends are just earning shit load of money. Because the skillset they have is in great demand in this time. The gender does not even come in this field. IT field.
This is the reason why I literally don't get the pay gap. Because my friends and other women in our circle earn and have skills as men. Even more than that, if not less.
Also, the corporate has traditionally been designed for male employees. It will take some time to adapt it for female employees too.
Professional athletes live in a different financial universe than us no-good normies. A 25% pay cut for them might just mean buying a Porsche instead of a Lamborghini for their Car of the Week. For working class and white collar workers this would be crippling to their own livelihoods and the livelihoods of their dependents (about half of which are likely to be female). Not to mention it would be illegal and discriminatory and completely immoral, and reinforce a BS narrative that the mere existence of men represents a "problem" in need of "correction".
If a woman is getting paid less because of her gender, THAT is a problem in need of fixing. Besides, if men suddenly started earning 25% less than women, employers would only wanna hire men coz it would be cheaper, so it wouldn't even help women's interests like feminists claim it would.
No, it's a TERRIBLE idea, because it's not fair at all, it's discriminatory. People should be paid according to the value they bring to the organisation or company. If someone, regardless of which of the two genders they happen to be, has more experience and talent than someone of the opposite gender, then it only makes sense they should be on a higher salary.
Poppy, don't take this personally, but judging by your comments and questions you don't appear to understand how the real world works.
I suppose it's up to the employer. If an employer offers to pay a certain amount in wages and the employee agrees, then great. If not, that's still okay, because employees can always look elsewhere for better paying employment with better benefits. It shouldn't be for governments or media to decide who gets paid what and how much. And then there's the cost-of-living issue too, which can fluctuate depending on how much the median income is.

They're always doing this crazy gender equality stuff in the UK. The men's team shouldn't be taking any pay cut to enable a women's team that has nothing to do with them other than they both play a sport. The women's team GM should be stepping up to that job.
No.1, the more we keep giving to women - especially when they don't ask for it - the more they will keep expecting and keep having entitled mindsets. All these guys are doing is enabling them in ways they later on down the road will complain about. Just like everything else men have done for women that women exploit and abuse.
No.2, no women's team would ever try to do anything in the name of helping men in some way or try to help men be equal with them, so men shouldn't be bending over backwards like that.
Why not just raise the bar and pay women the same for doing the same job? No one should have to take a pay-cut. If my daughter worked for a company doing the exact same job as a guy at her office and he was paid more, I would have a problem with that...
The same job but the work efficiency is not the same as the work ability, why can't you have more salary?
@Luna854422
I'm suggesting they are doing work that has the exact same job description and producing the same product, no differences in efficiency or work ability. If the one person has years of experience ahead of the other person, then naturally the person with many years of experience should be paid more.
I doubt the maths that a 25% pay cut corresponds to 25% pay increase but the point is male and female players are to be paid the same and this is funded by reducing the pay of male players.
In terms of other professions, corporations and gov't generally have defined pay scales and bands. So there is complete equality already. However, in terms of averages, women might on average earn less than men. That is men are higher on on those gender neutral scales.
In other areas, women are less inclined to work over time than men are and so earn less. In my experience women are less willing to work back and mostly vacate the building at 5:30 pm. Discretionary effort is valued by companies and mostly it is delivered by guys.
And women aren't so willing to to do nasty messy stinking jobs like fixing sewerage blocks.
So I am all in favor of equal pay for equal work!
No, definitely not. What’s the incentive to want to do better or get promoted if you’re just getting paid for the sake of equality. I know a lot of men, a lot of women as well who work w me in the medical field who make the same amount as me maybe more but don’t do a damn thing. So what it comes down to is myself as well as the girl who I work w having to do a lot more work because a certain girl is always running to the bathroom or disappearing or making up excuses as to why she wasn’t here. She just shows up knowing she’s still going to get paid what we get paid so why do much. Imagine if we got paid for each task we do.
If men take a pay cut, is it only fair that women pick up the tab when it comes to going out on dates, or having to approach and ask men out on dates. I mean, it’s not men’s fault that the employer or an organization pays more based on something like sports where men’s sports gets viewed a whole lot more then women’s sports. I mean more than half of you all complain about having to pay higher taxes for people that don’t contribute but benefit from public services. Lol short answer, no, get mad at the individual organizations or employers for doing that, not men.
Fuck no, if women want more they should put in more work, put in the same kind of hours as men, learn to lift the same weight as men instead of always asking a guy to lift it, cut your maternity leave down to how long guys get, go for jobs guys would take, but females won't do none of this they just want to be paid more then men for less work.
I see this at work all the time, females complain about their pay but I know they already get paid more than the guys, they start later then the guys and leave earlier everyday, they won't work on weekends if there's work, anything over 10lbs they act like weak little princesses asking the guys to grab it for them but they get paid more because they have vaginas and it's woke for the company to pay them more for no reason, I think they should take pay cuts so the harder workers can get paid more.
I'm just gonna drop the bomb here and walk away quietly.
Here it comes.
Many corporations are afraid that women will have a higher chance of calling in sick because of "monthly-periods" or pregnancy.
Meaning that no matter how you put it, they are not going to be working for that period.
How do you "level the fields"?
I'm not saying women SHOULD or SHOULDN'T be paid the same.
I'm just stating the fact that companies will "pay" for someone being actually "working". Not for the idea of that person being on contract.
I have no idea how to solve this equation. Just pointing it out and walking away quietly.
You may find a few exception, but if they have a choice, very few men will agree to a pay cut; nor should they. https://libertarianinstitute.org/author/walter-e-block/
No, if woman want the same pay as men, then they need to start putting as much effort as men do into their job. When it comes to pay gap in professional sports, men aren't paid more because of sexism, they are paid more because they bring in more revenue. If 2 people are working the same job and get paid based on the number of sales they make, is it fair for the person who had more sales to give some of their pay to the person who had less sales? No, the person who had more sales, put in the effort to get those sales, the person who had less sells could have easily put in more effort to get more sales.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/KfDynQFUHyshttps://www.youtube.com/embed/Jn_5HQ1AJi4No absolutely not.
#1 I don’t believe in the wage gap theory.
#2 if the wage gap doesn’t exist then it’s just sexism against men.
#3 if the wage gape does exist then shouldn’t that money instead come from the top of the corporate ladder instead of the poor people at the bottom?
#4 the world economy is trash and the US economy is super trash so I don’t think a pay cut of EVERY SINGLE MAN is going to be helpful.
that's really sweet. they just want some...
just kidding.
Actually, I offered that at one time at work, but for people in general so we didn't have to fire a bunch of people in general, not just women. As it was, the women I worked with were sometimes paid more than me, so I wasn't seeing unfairness there.
If I did, yes I would.
No unless they bring in the same value they don't deserve the same pay. And in sports they don't. And pay in most proffessions are already to low, cut the managements salary instead. Flatten the hiearchy. Because without the people on the floor there wouldn't be a company.
If the business can't afford to pay their workers fairly, cuts shouldn't come from other workers they presumably are already paying fairly. Cut from somewhere else or ur just moving the problem around and trying to turn workers against each other to distract from the one who's actually pulling shit.
There is no "pay gap" if you look at the real data. A field that has fewer women qualified, will have higher paid women. A field with fewer qualified men will have higher paid men.
Look at the real data. Google agreed to pay everyone equally. They also had to give the men a raise, to be equal. There are individual situations that are not equal, but that goes to the skills of the individual, not the entire gender.
If you want to cut my pay you will have to get it from the illegals that invaded the country and took my career away or get it from the workers in China or India where the rest of men's jobs and careers were deported to. Maybe get together with the feminist that helped make all that possible and work something out.
It's easy to get provoked by the media. The real story could be entirely different from how the news is presenting it and we will never know. I don't know about the Wales or their sports enough to opine on this.
no because most men use their money for their families and most women spend their money on themselves
there is a reason women are the biggest consumers WOMEN BE SHOPPING 😂
No. They get paid according to the ammount of money they're able to bring in. Not all sportsmen get paid equally to eachother because some are better than others. Male sports just bring in more money than female sports because by and large men play to a higher skill level which makes for a more exciting watch which brings in more money
That and also most people who watch sports are men and most people who play sports are men. And men like masculine energy in sports and a woman just doesn’t have masculine energy.
Women and men in modern America are paid the same. Women on average can’t be looked at u have to look at the job field, and title averages between male and female. Women tend to go into lower paying social jobs and men to labour jobs that are higher paying. Therefore if u average all the men in America and all the women in America of course womens per hour rate will be lower. It is not a problem. It’s their choice.
Are we going to work it both ways? Will female models and porn actresses take a 25% pay cut so they can pay the men more? Or do we only do this when men have a perceived advantage, but not when women do?
