So Mexico works the most hours but gets paid the least for their labor.
So they work here in USA and benefit our economy while also helping them get by at the same time. We both win. What are your opinions though? At what cost?
Firstly, let's address the notion that exploiting children through child labor is acceptable simply because they are living in poverty. This is a grossly unethical and inhumane way of thinking. Children deserve a childhood, education, and the opportunity to thrive, not to be exploited for the benefit of wealthy corporations.
Next, the idea that using cheap labor from underdeveloped countries is somehow beneficial to the US economy is short-sighted and ultimately harmful. Such practices perpetuate a cycle of poverty, exploitation, and inequality. It also harms American workers who are unable to compete with the artificially low wages paid to workers in other countries.
Furthermore, to suggest that Mexicans "benefit" from working long hours for low pay in the US is a twisted and perverse way of looking at things. It is a clear indication of the extreme wealth inequality that exists in our world today.
We live in a free society and we could do a lot more to end such practices. Unfortunately, people seem to be more interested in buying cheap garbage at Walmart than following a moral compass.
Child labor is a horrific practice that should be abolished everywhere, not excused or justified. And the use of cheap labor from underdeveloped countries is not only morally bankrupt but ultimately harmful to everyone involved. So no, I do not support child labor or the exploitation of workers, regardless of where they come from.
I don't agree with it, but most brands have their factories in countries like China, India etc. So, it's hard not to support it even if you don't want to. Now if I plan to visit that country and got a souvenir that's different.
The problem isn't kids working, the problem is kids being taken advantage of, overworked, risks and costs, and opportunity to improve themselves by going to school.
I'm ok changing the law so kids can work and make money and give them some favored status... lower taxes until 18. A half thought out answer...
However, the govt wants people in debt, which ensures they are under control.
As well, there are people that will abuse them. All that's required to solve that is decent parents and a savings account.
If companies are doing this, that's really time for a come to jesus meeting.
Probably anything made or grown in south america has child labor... good grief, they start those poor kids at 2-3 years old begging for coins. Very sad to see.
If they are here illegally they need to be sent back and the company needs to be fined into bankruptcy.
Dude they are 12
Yeah, exitsteven is a conservative. They practice the opposite of Jesus, no empathy or compassion for the least fortunate, the weak, and the vulnerable.
@holdem4884 cry me a river. These people are being exploited by the democrats. Biden started from Day 1 to bring as many as he could to try and flip some red states so democrats will stay in power forever. The he has no compassion for any of these people and he has no compassion for the citizens of this country he has sworn to serve.
That's right, 5 minutes after the inaugeration, Biden said f**k it and hopped in his Corvette and headed to Mexico. That's definitely true.
How the hell are you capable of believing the right wing drivel you spew?
Biden isn't compassionate because in your perverted and inverted world, compassion would be deporting hard working children back to corrupt narcostates so they can live in poverty until they get killed by a drug cartel?
Why do those drug cartels even exist? To feed the US market? I'd say we have some culpability in there plight.
Yeah, we all know who lacks compassion and empathy.
@holdem4884 Biden dismantled all the things President Trump implemented to keep the border secure, Before the election he publicly said many times that he would not send anybody back who cam here. He basically rang the dinner bell for 6 million indigent, uneducated people and just let them in the country. And those are just the ones we know about , It could be twice as many.
Whan Trump had the wait in Mexico policy and he was building the wall that sent a strong message telling them all the stay home and they did. Now America is saddled up with 6 million welfare recipients.
Any literate person can see though your red herring logical fallacies. Are you unaware that you're changing the subject rather than addressing the points that have been raised?
1) The topic is about child labor, these people are not "indigent" BY DEFINITION.
2) Your claimed that Biden lacked compassion, yet your last statement only clarifies how devoid you are of it. There is nothing compassionate about Trump's draconian immigration policies, or your xenophobic defense of them.
Yes Trump sent a "strong" message, that's what narcissistic autocrats do. However, there happened to be a worldwide pandemic that kept one or two people at home, and that slowed immigration just a pinch.
3) Claiming "America is saddled up with 6 million welfare recipients" is at best incredibly stupid on multiple levels. If you have any intelligence it's an intentional lie.
The best available data suggests up to 72% of undocumented immigrants participate in the workforce.
Undocumented immigrants are NOT eligible for welfare. The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA) explicitly prohibits undocumented immigrants from receiving public benefits, including cash assistance, such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and non-emergency Medicaid.
4) Biden said he would implement a number of changes including a moratorium on deportations during his first 100 days in office.
However, he never implemented a full moratorium. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a memo on February 18, 2021, stating that the agency would continue to prioritize the deportation of certain individuals, including those who pose a national security or public safety threat, recent border crossers, and individuals who have been convicted of an aggravated felony.
Biden has been deporting people for his entire Presidency but in a much more targeted way.
@holdem4884 We have just had a few busloads get dropped off in the little town next to mine. This was done in the middle of the night. They got put up in the only hotel in town, got free meals, clothing nd medical care. The already crowded local schools had to make room for 50 foreign kids that could not speak English. Guess who is picking up the tab for this? Who's kidding who, they will be permanent guests of the American taxpayers along with countless others. Why do you think they make the trip? Once they start having anchor babies we will never get rid of them.
Biden has opened to border to everyone. There are people from over 130 different countries. China, the middle east and Africa are well represented. Biden and Mayorkis claim the border is secure yet refuse to go and visit it. Biden went down a few weeks ago but it was magically cleaned up before his visit and in all the pictures that ended up in the newspapers there was not an illegal Alien in sight. It was like magic.
