Men and Women love and understanding over bias?

In a attempt to have a healthier outlook on humanity, and to silence my own personal biases about the opposite gender, I would like to get some opinions on how men and women can learn to be allies instead of enemies, I feel society tends to make us think negatively of each other, I’d like to be able to discuss the unique struggles of both genders, show compassion and empathy for each other’s hardships, think how we can make each other stronger if we stop assuming the worst about each other, and learn to value and appreciate each other’s strengths and weaknesses, I’d love to see society start leaning more towards these topics… so I guess these are my questions…
1.) how can we be less biased about the opposite gender?
2.) do you think it’s possible for the majority of men and women to be allies instead of enemies?
3.) what are steps to have a deeper understanding and appreciation for each other?
4.) how can we improve dating / casual sex?
5.) do our preferences in who we date / hookup with reinforce bad habits in society?
6.) as men and women should we oppose double standards?

Yes men and women can become allies!!

We should not generalize. A bad experience with one person should only be associated with that one individual, instead of generalizing their entire gender. Everyone should be given a chance to prove themselves. It’s easy to generalize. But it’s also wrong. That’s the very root of racism.

Definitely. But it’s going to be a difficult shift. Anybody with a happy heterosexual relationship with someone probably already understands this. That mentality and perspective just needs to be adopted by more people. Men and women can 100% get a long.


3.) what are steps to have a deeper understanding and appreciation for each other?


Empathy. Listening. Understanding their struggles. Getting to know men or women who aren’t representative of the negative stereotype. Looking for things to appreciate instead of looking for things to criticize.


4.) how can we improve dating / casual sex?


Absolute complete and open honesty. People should be upfront if all they want is to hook up. People should be upfront if they don’t want anything serious. Also, people should not pressure other people to engage in casual sex if that’s not their thing. In fact, I think casual sex causes more harm than good and actually should be reserved for exclusive relationships.


5.) do our preferences in who we date / hookup with reinforce bad habits in society?


Yes. Supply and demand of attention. If X type of women are getting more male attention, more women will want to become that. If Y type of men are getting more female attention, more men will want to become that. If we reward the right types of behavior with attention, we’ll start seeing more of that.


6.) as men and women should we oppose double standards?


Yes, if it’s indeed unfair, then it should be fixed or addressed. An easy way to do this is a body swap mental exercise. Imagine that you were to switch places with this person in this situation, would you think this situation is still fair? Etc.

Quite simply, we need to return to tradition. While that arrangement was abused, it doesn't mean it was wrong and at this point, we could all benefit from working together instead of at cross purposes. We need to raise a generation of children to fix us, we are briken by midernity and most especially post modernity. My take anyway.

What makes you think we are enemies. That is certainly not the case in the world of my friends and I.

I don’t think of women as enemies, but unfortunately there are definitely large percentages of men and women that have animosity towards one another, be it because of unhealthy relationships, struggles In dating, being exposed to toxic opinions on social media or their peers, I’m happy that you have a friend group that doesn’t fall into these pitfalls… but unfortunately that’s not always the case.

Right now there is a deep cavern dividing men and women in the West. To change that we need to consider how we got here, and what's keeping us there.

Lack of communication, loneliness, unsatisfactory relationships, the value of pitting men and women against each other for media attention, toxic ideologies, dating apps like tinder, and who we choose to date and sleep with… I feel like these are a few very impactful issues we face…

Men and women have something in common, we are humans, and as humans we are all capable of having flaws in out views of the world… feminism itself isn’t bad, but unfortunately some people will take advantage of a positive movements, and bastardize the intended mission of the group for their own benefit… and just for the record men definitely aren’t without fault in this issue…
