Why do Atheists and people of no faith get Religious Tattoo's or wear Religious objects?

To me it seems pretty dumb, especially when they get really specific tattoos and objects.

I've seen atheists who'd have a tattoo of the lords prayer, I asked them if they knew what it meant and they had no idea and they aren't religious and a half done rosary and they didn't know what it was. I've even seen some print a religious verse on their bodies.

Some wear crosses and crucifixes and even rosaries seem pretty common now... I find that disrespectful, it means nothing and you are glorifying someones death as fashion without knowing the meaning. you wouldn't wear a dagger necklace around your neck if your friend got stabbed.

Are you religious or not and do you have/wear any religious tattoos, objects or symbols?

No, they are not in gangs lol, they are not from religious families either (i've asked)

I'm not religious nor do I wear any symbol or have any tattoos that depict anything religious. My guess is that these people are not atheist since atheists usually choose to denounce their religion instead of not having one to begin with. However, they could be people from religious families that do not practice religion so they claim to be atheist and wear these things unknowingly.

You have to understand that to an atheist, it's as meaningless as any other symbol. If they like the look of it, it can sit right next to the Coat of Arms for Slytherin house. It simply holds no meaning to them in the original context.

LOL what? I've never even heard of someone doing that. Maybe they're people who aren't involved in religion but aren't necessarily atheists? It kind of sounds like they're just going with what their family and friends do, though.

this is extremely common especially just the prayer with the rosary by itself... it looks pretty straightforward
