I relax and let go of things when I head down to the beach and hit the surf. But when I can't do that, my favorite thing is to take off on really silly flights of fancy with whichever of my most playful friends happen to be around at the moment. What do YOU do when you really need to cut loose and decompress?

I try to treat myself with true gentleness and a laid back nature.
Other times I try to replace the feeling with positive response like cleaning or working out. Something to build a good habit because staying still isn’t always the best. Gotta keep it moving. Even if it’s just a nice walk. Anything that stimulates the mind, or makes you happy.

I use to drink heavily but now just don't let the day get to me.
Do something fun with my wife, or lay in the dark alone, depending on what kind of rough day it was.
Come home to cuddle my bed/shower and cry…

talk/hang with my friends

Draw Hottbath works. Or In Spring and Summer , glass of wine sit on my veranda and watch people. Works for me.
I go for a run, usually fast and long, it helps me think and unwind, I may also do a decent archery session as it helps me zone out n relax. Other than that it’s the pub with friends.
If I'm on my own I lay on the couch and listen to ASMR. Enjoying a drink is great too. Going for a walk works too if I stayed inside for a long time.
With a partner it's cuddling the partner. She loves cuddles, I learned to love it.
I listen to songs, and when I feel myself in the fluid chamber of the melody, I feel at peace.
Maybe sex but if I can’t get that I do just go out with the guys and play some sports like golf or baseball or go out to the club snd play some pool or darts. Also we do sometimes have a vide game night at my place too in my man cave.
