Why did my married coworker ask me what I got for valentines?

I’ve kinda thought this coworker may have a crush but for a while tried to just not think about it because he is married. Now with that said, he seems to be happily married and has never made any advert moves. He asked me today what I had gotten for valentines, and asking me about my man. I’ve never said anything about currently dating someone, just exes. I have been newly seeing someone so I told him that and he was asking if he got me anything for valentines and saying if he didn’t to have him come by so he would fight him in the parking lot 😭 I really don’t know where all this came from. I wore a heart shirt a few weeks ago and he made a joke about me getting a man just to use him for valentines gifts then break up with him. I just don’t know what to make of it

Tbh, it sounds like he could just be trying to make conversation. Sometimes we guys say things just to be "funny". For instance, I don't think he would literally fight a guy because he didn't give you a valentine, but might be interested in knowing that you're happy and being taken care of. Sometimes happy people just want to make sure that the people around them are happy too.
