back in the day guys would do the gender swap as a "joke". I did this as a joke when I was 18 for extra credit for my sociology class. I thought it was goofing around... but the professor was trying to make a "serious" observation. Now that I look back it I'm disgusted.

It would probably be a good laugh. We went out in dresses for a laugh on holiday for a night. Jesus we made the world's most ugly women. I can still remember my mate looking at me drunk with lipstick on and a wig. Fucking still gives me the creeps thinking about it
I feel bad cause im about to do double standards, but although girls may look hot in a tux (if the best "woman" of their guy friend in a wedding), i would NEVER be happy seeing my male crush in a dress. Ultimate turnoff. So no i wouldn't attend this party because i dont want to see a guy in a dress

Maybe but not with the stereotypical dress ups because I don't like dresses. I could see myself coming to the party in flared pants or leggings while the women could come to the party in slim tapered or regular fitting pants.
I'm pretty sure I'll be cringing throughout the party though.
You might be surprised at how comfortable some can be, dressing up like that! Better to stay in, and make it a private party, and then play some intimate 'Truth' game and a little alcohol to get to know your friend's inner feelings!
Make it interesting, maybe, and tell them they have to wear the clothes, but also the underwear, and then play something like strip poker.
Oddly enough my school is planning a reverse prom where my boyfriend has to come in a dress and me in a suit and we both have no issue with it. The event is supporting gender roles and gender equality. So I definitely would enjoy your party and do the theme

It is easier for girls and guys, I mean most girls wear more jeans than dresses. If I were you I'd find a theme where both would equally suffer /not suffer.

If I knew that the people there were doing it as a joke or just for fun I'd go and possibly go along with it, but if these people were transgender I wouldn't be comfortable
