My boyfriend lied about going to a party

He went to a party tonight and got drunk. He then got dropped off at my house so I asked him who did he drink with and he named 3 of his guy friends and that was it. Well some of his friends came over to my house. They were talking about how they all went to a party earlier and they including my boyfriend in the group that went. So I asked them questions and they were like "yeah it was a party." This isn't the only time my boyfriend has hid going to a party from me. I always tell him when I go to parties. And its no big deal that he went, its just that I feel like I have the right to be told that he's going to a party. Am I overreacting? Or should a boyfriend tell his girlfriend when he goes to a party?

Well have you ever given him a hard time about going out to parties without you? or have you made him feel that it's not ok to do anything of that nature?

that could be why he doesn't feel like telling you...to avoid the arguement..

although I do believe people should let each other know about things like that..

He should definitely have told you and the fact that he didn't on more than one occasion might (I say "might" because, it's just one of a few possibilities) be a clue that he's doing something at these parties that he's gone to that he doesn't want you to know about.
