What does it mean when a guy keeps picking you up by the waist and always hugging you?

Okay, so this guy keeps picking me up and squeezing me in class. He says he wants to get a reaction out of me. He does it 3-5 Times a day, and so far the only reactions he's got were a few shrieks, and that's because he caught me on surprise. Now about the hugging. He hugs me every time he sees me and when it's time to go to the busses. He sometimes hugs me from behind, on the shoulder, and from the front. He manages about 6-10 huggs a day. Just a side note I've been told that he used to like me when we were younger. I would appreciate your feedback.

- Taking the initiative to hug you (back hugs, too wtf? <not a normal hug for friends)
-6 to 10 hugs is a bit much, no? lol
- I am pretty sure you already know that he is into you so either just keep playing hard to get, tell him you only see him as a friend to maybe discourage the hugs if you feel uncomfortable.

If you don't like the hugs, then you can change hugs to high fives or something lul
