What is causing this?

The past several months I have develop a hobby in propmaking. Of course, when it comes to building and making things, you are subject to minor cuts and abrasions especially when you are working with extremely sharp tools like an X-Acto knife. I have cut myself and bled many times by accident along with an accidental stabbing in my leg (don't ask). Anyway, I noticed that after a few minutes the pain goes away and the wound is completely healed. Now, when I first noticed I facetiously thought: Holy shit, I'm Wolverine. In all seriousness though, I've been trying to figure out what in my body is the catalyst to this fast-healing like possibly testosterone. A friend told me that it's most likely because of high cholesterol. I have the medical knowledge of an ant so, my question is what is causing this "cool" bodily function?
