When I see a girl, two things determine how attractive she is and if I wanna date her or not:
First is looks.
Second is personality.
Obviously, you have to past looks to get to personality.
If she has the looks, I just might approach her or become interested in her. If she doesn't have the looks, I'll simply walk by and pass her...she's not worth the time. Call me shallow, but I think that's how it works for half the guys on Earth.
Thus, looks can be a deal-breaker in initial approach.
Let's say you're fat and you manage to pass the initial look phase, maybe you approached me in this situation, I might keep you as a friend, but not as a girlfriend.
Weight does hold a large "weight" (I'm too funny) in determining girlfriend material- I'd say for the majority of guys. But then again, every guy is different. You just might find a guy that doesn't stress how much his girlfriend weighs...then you have those guys that are actually INTO heavier girls...as you can see, there's quite a spectrum.
If you're just normal weight, then why worry? You're not bad...but not too good either. So just leave it at that and stop worrying. If he likes you, he should like you for YOU.
Girls tend to obsess over their appearance more than is necessary, and certainly more than is productive. If you're going to obsess over something, you're better off obsessing over how you act around guys than how you look. For one thing, it's much easier to change how you act than how you look, and it does make a big difference.
Most smart guys will quickly lose interest in a thin girl who is vacuous.
There are so many factors when it comes to weight...how tall are you, are you athletic, etc. This is not to mention the fact that different guys have different standards. But in general, it's more important to have the right proportions than to be super-skinny. Also, if your arms aren't fat, then you probably shouldn't need to worry about the rest of your body.
