If a 20 year old girl says she's a virgin, is she lying?
Does she seem particularly shy? If so, then that's a sufficient explanation. Perhaps she never lost it because she was so anti-social.
Is she very religious? Maybe she is saving herself for moral/religious reasons.
My point is, there are plenty of plausible reasons why she is still a virgin, so don't assume she is lying. You could try straight up asking her why she never got around to losing it.

Hookup culture is largely a myth. Most people aren't casually fucking. It's just the ones who are get more attention in the press and do it openly today.
