My girlfriend is moving (only an hour away), but I am scared of losing her?

Anonymous
I have been with my girlfriend for over 6 months.

We get along very well and I enjoy being with her.

The best part of our relationship is that we live within walking distance of each other.

It makes seeing each other easy and it's nice that we can walk out to eat or dinner or a bar, etc.

However, we are both 23 and in graduate school, but in a few weeks she will be moving back home ( a little over a hour away from me) to save some money for rent.

She will began a series of required internships for school and she thought it would be most cost effective to commute from home than school (considering these internships don't pay).

Although she will only be home for 2-3 months I am still scared. I am afraid about "out of sight, out of mind" especially considering we will be an hour away from each other now -- as opposed to a few minutes.

Plus, since we will both be busier it'll be much harder to see each other...maybe once a week -- if we are lucky. Also, we won't be able to talk to each other nearly as much.

What should I say to her?

How should I approach this situation?

I want to be with her, but I can't imagine seeing someone fairly often and talking to them almost everyday and then seeing them way less like I will see her.

I am scared of losing her.

Maybe I am overreacting...an hour really isn't that far, but still.

I know she kind of feels the same way, but I don't know what to do. In fact she was the one who asked if we should stay together because of the "out of sight, out of mind" thing. I know I want to continue seeing her...It's not like an hour is that far!

Thanks!
