Shy guy/outgoing girl relationships DO work. Shyness is almost always a temporary thing. Once you get to know him he will open up a lot. Comfort is key. Try to do activities that he is good at and most comfortable in. You could ask him to help you do something (makes him feel wanyed/needed). Patience is also very important too. It may be frustrating, but the sooner you let him in the better it will be for you.

Cliche, but it depends. You will find it difficult at times, you might feel as though it's maintenance. The guy could also feel as though he's coming to his own, on the opposite he might hate it.
You don't want to live your life without regrets, weigh up the pros and cons and make a decision.
Yeah, it's possible. In fact, I think it's better than two quiet people together. My boyfriend and I don't talk a lot because we're both naturally quiet, but then again, he tries harder to small talk with people that are not me (takes me for granted.) Quiet time between quiet people should be okay but a lot of times, it's awkward between the two of us.
Yes I have the last guy I was with was like that and it worked out great for 2 years! He definitely balanced me out because I am very obnoxious at times. If you are an outgoing girl you will never run out of things to talk about!

if he runs out of things you choose the topic.
i think it can work but you will be in the pants most of the time. plus most of shy people want to communicate and enjoy the company once you lead him and help him become the acceptable outgoing by your standards you will be really happy. and if it did not work he will be thankful for the change. I know I amI think they can work. Often the extroverted one can bring the shy one out of their shell, and the shy one can reel in the extroverted one a bit.
yes, I think they can get a balance and help each other out.
yes, they can work if they share the same values
