I think it depends on who you're talking about. I think some folks have orders of magnitude more dating options than they would have had a couple of generations ago. So for those people, the cost of breaking up has dropped a LOT and the benefits of being single are much greater than they used to be. But for a lot of people--probably the majority--that isn't going to be the case.
Of course. With the government being so condescending to this group and that, with the groups, especially, God's institution of marriage is under siege!
With the general culture being about chasing the next thing you can get a dopamine hit from coupled with apps that let people have thousands of other people to choose from I'd say yes. Relationships are essentially people using other people for fun then moving on to the next thing that they think is fun with little more depth involved than that.
You don't have to break up to have make up sex. Make up sex used to mean after an argument. Another reason ldr's are pointless, you fight in a ldr, there's no make up sex.
I do like make-up sex but not the pain of break-up. Hmmm.. if only there was a way to experience the pleasure of make-up sex without the pain of break-up! 🤔
Yes, I guess that's happening more often now. People are becoming less accomodating and less tolerant plus everyone is under lot of other stress like work, social pressures etc, which at times leads them to sacrifice relations.
I can't relate. As a high functioning autiste the emotional states of illogical beings will, at worst, just slightly annoy me. It's their life and in the end our mortal dance is meaningless.

As @LemiaOfTheCodes can testify breaking up via message leaves a lot of unanswered questions and leave scars opens.
And the worse kind is who tries to hear that words from the other person by saying that. The same person later says: " we were not even in a relationship"... the one who were planning wedding dresses.

Well, I've always felt that the irony in this situation is that those people who SHOULD break up never do (until the police get involved.)
And not always even then.
@Brainsbeforebeauty Yeah, you're right. :/
It has always been easy to breakup for some people. Making up is harder.
Right! People just don't put any effort into relationships as much these days or seems like anyways

Feels like most people are closer to quitter than anything else not only in relationships.
That's true
MAKE UP -
35 years old now; current relationship is my longest. Together eight years this June! :-)
That's great! Any special plans for your anniversary?

I honestly don’t know! I’ve only been allowed to date for two years, so I have NO idea what it was like before.
Allowed?

it's very easy to say "Goodbye"... but not easy to get through...

With the technology we have today, absolutely. People can now take the easy way out and not have to actually tell the person face to face.
Yeah technology I feel it's destroying dating and relationships.

What are you? Einstein? You're trying to bypass some alogrithm there

Culture across globe is changing, everyone is looking for 2 minute noodles...
Seems like
social media makes it too easy to escape without a real conversation
Right!

it easy to people to say "I love you" without having any feelings
That's true! Real live isn't just heard, it's shown/seen in their actions and the way they treat you

Yeah, unfriending on social media is like the ultimate breakup finishing move.
I really do believe that. Many of my friends have been divorced at least once for whatever reason.
