sex is the one thing that binds a relationship together. the difference between platonic friends and romantic friends is sex thus if that sacred act is violated it destroys any trust between the two partners

people can talk about "loving" someone else but actions do speak louder than words and sex is solid proof of of that someone loving someone else thus it hurts more
