Would you go back to the man he broke you if he offers to pay the therapy for the damage he did?

Long short story: toxic relationship. There were good moments too , of course. 4 years of living together then 2 more years of going back and fourth, trying to convincing myself he'll change. Well he didn't. Now that he realized am not coming back he says he is a changed man, that he will work on improving the relationship if I go back. He insisted that we should get couple therapy. I said No. He said he will pay my therapy so he can repair the damage he'd done. He used to call me oversensitive as an excuse for yelling or calling me names during our fight when I was just trying to help him to quit alcoohol. Now I struggle to find out who I am. I can't fall asleep naturally at night. 2 years of anti depressants, valerian and melatonin. Anything so I can fall asleep. I said that I don't want him to pay anything for me and that I will change my decision. He was mad about it and he asked back some of the gifts I received. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Any advice on how can I fix myself. thanks..

Hey boo, I would not go back to that guy no matter what he offers. Paying for therapy doesn't fix the real issues or make up for how badly he treated you. You don't need him to "fix" anything - what you went through was super messed up and it's totally normal to still be dealing with the emotional fallout.

Getting away from that toxic relationship is the best thing for your healing. I'd keep him blocked on everything and focus on yourself for now - do things that make YOU feel good like hanging with friends, taking a fun class, working out, art, whatever. Don't rush getting over it either. Be patient and kind to yourself through the process.

Maybe talking to a counselor could help get some things off your chest and give you tools to manage stress/anxiety. But don't do it expecting him to "repair damage." Only you can do that for yourself now. You got this - stay strong luv! In time you'll feel more and more like your awesome self again.
