Why is my ex boyfriend texting me?

My ex broke up with me last year because I was depressed since my mom had cancer and he took it personally that I wasn’t acting the same anymore and he felt like I left him in the dark. He broke up with me through my mom and I only found out that he had left me because he unfollowed me on Instagram and took me off his relationship status on Facebook. When I called him crying he was telling me “oh it’s a good thing I didn’t talk to you sooner, I had a lot of mean things to say to you.” He was really cold to me and I was devastated. Now I found a new boyfriend and I love him so much, he treats me with respect and I can tell he’s in love with me. I’m also in love with him. I’ve been posting some photos of us lately on Instagram and I’m sure my ex probably knows that I have a new boyfriend.
