Should I write this guy or will it be weird, what should I write?

How should I (F25) show a guy (M30) I have known for years that I am attracted to him or will it be weird?

Been in an (kinda verbally) abusive relationship for years. Now I am doing pretty good after a longer break. Done with school and getting my degree in January, good economy, travelling, having good friends and a good relationship with my family, enjoying life with my child, having my hobby, staying active doing sport, been to therapy and still go sometimes.

I have started dating a little bit and I am kinda proud of myself for being able to turn guys down now when I see a red flag. I feel much different than when I met my ex five years ago at age 20.

Now I openend my eyes to a guy I think is really cute. I have “known” him for some years, like saying hi, small talk when we run into each other, been in the same circle because coming at some of the same places. I never saw him in that light, but now I think he seems like a nice, friendly and chill person and I am kinda attracted.

Problem is he is really really good friends with someone I go for for dance lessons. And he has seen me with my ex before.

But we are friends on facebook. Could I send a message, what could I do to open up for it, what should I write or better to leave it alone?
