Why do we all put our ideal partner in pur friend zone?

Most people seems to have a clear picture of how their ideal partner is, and that picture is often one of our friends. We literally compre every single date with that person and wonder why we never find our ideal partner… but… they are standing there right beside us!!
why do we do this? Why do we put our ideal partner in our friend zone? Is this more common that girls do this or that guys do it? What are your experiences with this? Have you been that friend zoned person? Or have you friend zoned your ideal partner and later realised it?
