Do you believe dating sites/apps are "hard mode" to finding that special someone?

I ask because when I've looked to date people, that's been my only method. I only know one person, one of my sisters, who met their special someone through a dating site/app. Everyone else I know that's dating/engaged/married met them through some other means. I wouldn't say they don't work in general, but it's basically like window shopping for both men and women. I've had times when I went on a date with someone, I thought it went well, and that they had a good time too, only for them to ghost me. I've also had times when a woman agreed to a date with me, but then they delete the conversation and I never ended up meeting them. I also dated one person who went on like 6 dates with me, but she ended up dumping me, and ended up dating other guys who treated her like garbage, so it seems like the quality of people on dating sites/apps isn't very good either. What do you think?
