Is this guy a shy guy? he wants to detail my car for free?

So there’s a guy I’ve been chatting with. He seems super closed off, but today I got him to open up a bit. He details cars for a living. I told him I need my car detailed but he warned where he works charges a lot. He offered to detail my car outside of his job. I offered to pay and he said he would do it for free. Lol weirdly he hasn’t asked me out yet but I haven’t met him in person yet? Is he insisting to detail my car as an exchange for a date? Is he hoping I will ask him to hang out first? I’m just not really understanding the offering of detailing my car for free when I haven’t done anything to deserve a free car detailing. Advice?

If it were me to keep two Businesses separate and distinguishable, I would meet beforehand.
If it is good then meet to detail. Of course, you have to participate so detailing same side tires together or being on the same side to speak must happen. If that goes well, then take him out for both his work and “detail secrets” training.
He will feel respected which means he will feel love of some sort from you. Good luck 🍀….

He probably is working his way up to something like that. Either date or sex, but nobody does anything for free unless there's something in it.
