Guy wants to invite me to his sister's place for the third date. Is this weird?

I've been seeing this guy that I met through bumble, and things have been going great. We connect on a lot of levels and we both enjoy spending time together. However, we've only been on two dates (coffee date and dinner date). We have not even kissed yet and he seems a little love bomb-y.

Anyway, he speaks very fondly of his family, especially his sister. He tells me that she's a really good judge of character and would like me to meet her so he invited me to a gathering with his sister over the weekend. I've never had someone want to introduce me to one of their family members this early on, and I'm not sure what to think of it. I don't feel comfortable with it, and quite frankly, I'm worried there's something shady going on.

What are your thoughts?

I think your not feeling comfortable with this makes a whole lot of sense. I think any girl is going to feel uncomfortable with this. That's because a third date, is objectively too soon to be trying to introduce someone to a family member. It's not socially appropriate or socially acceptable. That's why you're uncomfortable. Because you SHOULD be uncomfortable.

I think you need to tell him that you're uncomfortable. (you're in the right here. It's not appropriate. If he can't see that... that's his problem).

I do not have my alarm-bells going off when it comes to this potentially being something "shady." In fact, I am having trouble imagining just what sort of shady-shit you had in mind.

What this seems more like to me is the "love bombing." To me, that seems very-much in line with this request that you meet his sister on the first date. He is making you super important (and getting super serious) with you right away. To me, this is another way to love-bomb.

If, for example you were one of those girls who would just LOVE to jump into being super-serious, super-fast... then this might very well be a significant way he shows that girl how serious HE is. However, for most people, this is just not appropriate. You're put-off by it. I think this love-bombing tactic doesn't work on you... but only because you have a "regular" "healthy" idea of how quickly a new relationship (or potential relationship) should move. If you didn't... this would have worked how he hopes it will. (by showing you he's ultra serious about you, is thinking long-term etc.)

You need to tell this guy how you're feeling.
