Girls, are you on here because you feel lonely, and maybe don't like to go out (bars/clubs/etc.)?

Myself, I don't like crowds or meeting people or going out for that specific purpose - but I do feel lonely sometimes. Is anyone else like this? A person who doesn't like people in general, but paradoxically feels lonely. I'm not socially awkward at all, and although I can be rather personable and even charming, I really don't like that whole traditional 'dating scene.' I wondered if any of you girls ever feel the same.

it's not that I don't like people, I just don't like to be around people for "too long",

a few mins is fine but usually it tends to last longer than just a few mins and that's why I just avoid it all together.

I don't go out

when people visit I don't really come out.

it's strange I suppose but I really just don't like to around people too long and it sucks to be this way because I have nobody and sometimes feel lonely

as much as I want somebody, I don't think I would be normal ever. Normal as in like being around people and chitchatty etc.

I've never actually dated. one kid asked me out thinking I was younger and when he discovered I was much older he still insisted, I declined and declined then finally my brother's girlfriend said I should just go and I did and it was strange.

maybe more people would ask me out if I got out more, who knows.. but I never go anywhere. I wouldn't know where to go and I don't even have friends to go out with them to meet people, it would have to be by myself..

to the person who answered with "this is not a dating site" what ignorance, the whole world is a dating site, you never know where you will meet the one that will make you happy. Ignore people like that. work is not a dating site yet most people meet their husbands and wives there. Today more often than not people find it online even on sites that are not mean for dating such as this and others like gaming, etc.

Thank you for your opinion - It makes me feel better (for some strange reason). I'd like to ask you why you think you feel this way... Do you not like the way you look? Don't like attention in general? Feel embarrassed having other people know why you are out?
Because I'm guessing you don't do online-dating, either. For me, it kinda feels like the juice ain't worth the squeeze, you know? Like, even though you 'could' meet someone, that slim possibility that it would work out isn't worth all that time and effort.
Not that anyone asked, but even though I do feel I've got a lot going for me and I might actually be able to have a family... I just kind of don't care, even though I do get lonely. I know that is contradictory, but can you relate to any of that, too?

well honestly it's a number of things.. I feel like a loser. I don't believe I'm a loser but I somehow feel it. I don't have anything at my age. I could say now that's the reason, people will want to chit chat and ask about your life and I'll have nothing to say about it. BUT I've been this way even years ago, so years ago I wouldn't be able to use this as a reason... but now it is the reason.

I am self conscious about how I look. I don't think I look bad, but I also don't think anyone would really prefer me over some other girl/woman. I feel nobody would ever really want to get to know me and if they did I feel they would be disappointed as people want the other person to have something too to bring to the table and I have absolutely nothing. I don't have a house, I don't have a car, I don't have savings. Did I ever think this would happen to me? not at all.. I went to school, got my degree but never found a job. I work part time doing paperwork that's all. I'm scared to end up alone and I really hope I don't but really feels that way. I don't think anyone wants anybody like that and if they ever showed interest it would fade as soon as they realize I have nothing. I wouldn't call that "gold diggers" because I understand everyone wants someone that has something rather than nothing.

so I guess even if I ever had the bravery to actually go out and try to meet someone, why would I even bother trying to waste someone's time if they will likely not see me as a candidate for something serious.

I'm asking if anyone finds themselves on here more when they feel lonely... 'lonely' doesn't mean looking for a hook-up - I just meant lonely. Like when you just want to interact with people. People can come here to learn about the opposite sex, have a question answered, and so on.
