He falls asleep while talking to me on the phone at night. Is this bad?

Not at all. He needs his sleep, he's tired, and his body falls asleep. Good for him.

Just wish him goodnight and sweet dreams before he falls asleep. Keep the phone call shorter.

Nah means he is tired. Bet he works or is busy all day. He lays down in bed and gets on the phone. Room is dark. If it were me a cool fan would be running. I'd lay back on my pillow. Yeah this is making me sleepy just imagining me in this situation. I would fall asleep too after a long day. Don't take it to mean anything other than he probably got comfy and then drifted off and not intentionally. If it was bad he wouldn't pick up the phone or want to talk in the first place.
