When you say two people would look good together, what do you mean?

When you say that a guy and a girl would look good together or would be good together or be a cute couple, what do you mean by that? Do you usually mean that they share similar characteristics such as height ( a short guy with a short girl), or colouring (they have the same colouring or features)?

What makes you look at two people and go "they would be a cute couple" ? What makes two people 'look' like they fit each other?

It's just a comment on their looks and what might be assumed to be their personal chemistry.
