Unless it’s a girl I know very well like the girl I’m currently seeing/pursing since I’ve known her for about 30 years, I don’t see the point of splurging on a date with a girl I barely know. What would be an acceptable first date with a girl you barely know? What would be acceptable to women?

Netflix and chill

Something free or low cost like hiking, the beach, etc.

Coffee shop

Drinks at a bar

Drinks and appetizers at a bar

Movie

Dinner

Coffee or tea. That will give you a chance to have a conversation in person. It also helps weed out foodies. My rule is first two meetups like that. If she is still interested, then I know it is in me not free meals and on the third we'll go someplace nice.
