There are four guys I rejected that were jealous when I was happier or richer or more educated or more liked then them. Guys I never dated that still view me as a competitive rival when I never agreed to be their girlfriend. I don’t know why a guy would be jealous of your happiness when you never dated him. It’s like they think they own you because they used to like you.
I guess it might depend of the severity of the rejection and whether they actually manned up to admit their feelings to You at all. Some men can be offended with a rude, demeaning rejection, but let's be honest, they are perfectly in the right. Some prideful men might be offended with a rejection itself, and in this case, they are in the wrong. Knowing Your usual online demeanor, I would not suspect You of rude, demeaning confessions, so I'm inclined to say that those who wish for Your life to become hell are the ones who deserve this hell themselves. In general, though, rude and demeaning or simply ice-cold, cruel rejections are more common than You might think, and some men are right to wish hell upon those who hurt them like that.
