My boyfriend thinks I would go for his best friend?

Me and my boyfriend have been together for months I love him but sometimes he doesn't trust me

He has this friend let's call him B for some reason i feel like he feels insecure about him

He introduced me to him at the start of our relationship, he is chill person we joke around like normal peopel I only see him when I'm with my boyfriend

Once after we hang out with his friends my boyfriend asks me if I have a crush on B as a joke but that wasn't just a joke he is actually thinking I like his friend

Another time we were with B we were arguing over chocolate and he says he would bring me another time that was just normal conversation but my boyfriend has been overthinking that and later that day he tells me word for word "I'm pretty sure if B asks you out you would go for him" I was shocked on how little he thinks of me

Not only he said that to him when we were together and B comes I ask him if he brought me the chocolate and my boyfriend laughs and after a moment both of them went outside and I overheard my boyfriend telling B that if he asks me I would say yes and B was like I'll try that

I'm very disappointed but I also need genuine perception of you all on how I was suppose to act around his friends?

Ah man that's rough, your boyfriend doesn't seem to trust you much. I can see why you'd feel hurt.

But I don't think you did anything wrong with his friend. Just joking and being friendly like normal. Guys and girls can just be friends without it being anything more.

Your boyfriend's insecurity is probably coming from inside himself, not really about you. Still doesn't make it okay for him to say those things though. That was really disrespectful.

You might wanna talk to him and let him know how much it bothered you. Stick up for yourself - you've given him no reason not to trust you. And tell him joking about stuff like that crosses a line.

If he keeps acting jealous for no reason after you talk, then I don't know maybe he has some issues to work out. Don't feel like it's your fault somehow, his behavior is on him. You deserve someone who respects you, dude.

My advice would be don't change how you act - you didn't do anything wrong. And don't date someone who so obviously doubts you. But try talking first and see if he can get his head on straight. Good luck, hope it works out.
