So date and waste the marriage-minded person's time or just date them till it's no longer fun? Not fun equals not anymore dating or not anymore friends? Interesting.
You get what you get. If you start placing conditions on dating like oh gosh, you must intend a long-term commitment. That is too much for almost everybody and they're not going to go along with it and you aren't going to get a date. How about you just meet somebody you like and take it a day at his time and see how things go. You know like people used to do?
It's more that I think if you start dating someone, you shouldn't be looking for something else immediately. Taking it a day at a time is fine and if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.
I think maybe it's because people value their freedom and privacy too much. And the glitter of relationships have been going downhill for decades now. A lot of people in the Western world value their independence and don't want to become husbands and fathers, or don't view that as something to strive for, the label or identity.
How sad. They're not really able to truly commit. Why are some people then able to get that and not me 😞. They think commitment is like going to jail or such a horrible thing. Well, I think dating casually (and then dumping you if you no longer serve their selfish needs) is real cruel. They just USED you for the time being or while things were peachy. That's not love, it's convenience and using.

Disagree. Dating is fun.
No need to bring marriage into it.

Orrrrr... Date like minded people.. don't jump to conclusions so readily.
I’ll disagree because dating is dating & although dating could lead to marriage, marriage can also lead to divorce & divorce can lead back to dating.
Not necessarily marriage but I think you should be looking for long term commitment.

I disagree, you can date and even be in a relationship and never need to get married
Disagree: Marriage isn't for everyone.

You can’t be “dating” and only interested in marriage.
Lol and why not? That's often a precursor TO marriage. At least that's how my ex treated it!
Not sure what that means.
In my experience, men just want to date with no long term intention.
I’m just answering your post
