Guys, Should I kiss my guy friend if he's not making the first move?

Should I make the first move? He flirts with me often in public, touches me, rubs my back and neck when we walk side by side and we spend alone time together often but when it's just the two of us he acts more like a friends and we just laugh a lot together.

I'm very attracted to him and want to kiss him and take things to the next level but I'm very afraid of rejection.. How do I go about kissing him? Or show him i want to be kissed?

If he "flirts with [you], touches [you], rubs [your] back and neck when [you] walk side by side", he IS making the first move- he's just waiting for a response on your part.

Thanks for your answer, sometimes I second guess those signs as friendly that's why i've been holding back for months.. what should my next steps be?

Well, if his actions ARE signs of interest (which I think they are, but there's always room for doubt), I think your best bet is to reciprocate- touch and flirt with him, too. If he's interested, things should escalate between you naturally, and if I'm misunderstanding, you get plausible deniability.

Social norms have changed, and political firestorms are changing, intensely enough these days that a lot of guys are VERY hesitant to express interest openly. It's not that you, or even the majority of women, are psychopathic on the subject, but enough are that caution is necessary. Unfortunately, this makes dating even more of a mess than it was before. The golden rule, I guess, is to always try to approach a situation with understanding, patience, and a willingness to not assume the worst- which, come to think of it, was always good advice.
