Can someone be too ugly to have a relationship?

Hi, I am 21 and F. I have never been in a relationship nor have I been approached by guys (but I admit: due to my shy nature I never go out. I do go jogging but that's an activity I engage in once it's completely dark and even then I choose woody areas where there is no human being.)

The two above mentioned things prompted me to entertain the possibility that I might be really ugly. No one has ever called me ugly but I know that I am far away from what society considers ''a stunner''. I exercise regularly to stay in shape but I think the source of the whole problem is my face.

But I digress: I have been thinking about whether it's possible to be too ugly to have a relationship.

What are your takes? You're welcome to weigh in with your opinions. :-)

I feel like you are trolling us. I have my doubts that you are so ugly you only go jogging at night in the woods... alone. That being said, I think the problem has nothing to do with your physical attractiveness. I see plenty of "ugly" people in relationships. It's that you are not making yourself look available. And I don't mean you start acting desperate or dressing like a woman of the night. Although that wouldn't hurt. But you will need to learn how to flirt when you see a guy you think is approachable. Believe it or not good guys always wait for signals before we approach because we are shy too. And even then some women have to send up a signal flare before we will take action.

I see a lot of lonely people and something they seem to have in common is that they are too shy to speak up when they want to be in relationship with someone. Imagine going to a restaurant and being too shy to order. You will always leave hungry.

I think the problem is you not wanting to look more feminine, because you are either happy not being attracted to men, or are scared if you try and look more feminine, that you will fail.
You have a nice smile, so I'd say get a nice haircut and some more feminine clothes, and then see if you feel differently. I think you might

I know folks who have ugly personalities and they're impossible to match eith anyone even if their face and body are phenomenal. People can see "nasty" on a person's face, which detracts from their physical appeal.

Get counseling if you can. Neither my wife nor I thought we were particularly attractive at your age. We were both quite attractive but didn't know it.

No need to have a boyfriend. You should focus on having guy and girl friends to hang out with as that will build up your confidence.

That's going to be a seemingly insurmountable challenge. The thing is that I live in a country where people are pretty cold and tend to keep to themselves. Making friends isn't straightforward.
