What Guys Said
Your CFA manager sounds like she is stressed, grumpy, and under a lot of pressure. She's probably used to hearing all kinds of excuses why employees can't make it to work and wrongly assumed you were fabricating a story. You're done with them now so I wouldn't worry about it.
It's your last day, it really doesn't matter. This is not like a corporate job you are going to put on the resume. Take the day off and enjoy. No point in getting upset. Just explain, it turns out you're not going to be able to make it, and let it be.
Well, what happened?
You don't work there anymore so don't worry about it. Next time though maybe take an Uber or a taxi though, bumming rides is not a reliable way to get to a job.
Or I suppose you could take the bus, but personally I hate public transportation so much I'd rather ride a bike.
Yeah, I guess I was thinking that since it was my last day, most people don’t even put in a two-week notice. They didn’t need people thaaaaaat bad. If they did, a manager wouldn’t have spent an hour and a half getting me
Well as not as if they're your friends. It's a job and a nearly pointless one at that so don't worry about it.
Future notice, get the rider on insurance that gets you a car rental in case of accident.
I've never been in an accident that was my fault, but it still covered me having a rental vehicle while my vehicle was getting fixed.
If the accident is not your fault, it gets billed to the other drivers insurance anyways in the end, that is what happened in my case, and it took six weeks to get my car fixed at the time.
Nope, don't feel bad. It sounds like a shitty place run by incompetents. Just move on to better things.
Do not give it a second thought. This is why you want to got to school and train for a career so you do not have to work in a fast food place your whole life.
I'm not sure why you haven't contacted someone in legal for CFA, and turned the manager in.
Should I, you think?
Absolutely!
You're 76yrs old and giving a girl bad advice? Go on explain what benefit is that to her.
@Alejandro3000 You're 21 years old and so much more knowledgeable than me. Bad advice. HR should have been her first contact. The manager was abusive. But you being so much wiser than me, who has been in the economic system for 50 years or so, please, do inform us what she should have done.
Yeah but you haven't explained why it would 'benefit' her now, I don't want to get into unpleasantries thank you
@Alejandro3000 You began the unpleasantries, sir. It may not benefit her specifically, but those who continue to work under this woman might have a more pleasant work environment. I don't block many people because I can debate an issue with anyone. What I WILL block someone for is insulting me. I don't come her for confrontation.
You really think HR gives a damn? Their job is to protect the company and usually they do it by stomping little people flat.
@DaveToo Go ahead and block if you think anybody here has insulted you. The fact is HR take a lateral view and Hannah would then be the one in trouble for not providing an address and accepting a lift. That manager tried to help. As it stands no harm has been done. Hannah left. And you insulted my intelligence by suggesting you have better wisdom than someone half your age. I'd love to see you argue her defense.
@Alejandro3000 Then the conversation is done. There's nothing to argue about. Sorry if I offended you.
Find a good man who can support you when you have fallen. There is nothing wrong with helping your girl out and supporting her when she needs help in these times. Sometimes it takes a man to talk to these people and set them strait.
It's your last day, you could've spit in their face and it wouldn't have mattered. Fuck em.
Yes, that sounds like bad managers, but every chin has good and bad managers. Most of what I hear about CFA is good.
