Hey, my little Fluff, I get very little time to talk to u'll these days. Answering these little cute questions transforms me into a kind of smurf world, I mean after the hell I live in and experience the whole day. I usually write these questions while I'm eating dinner after a grueling day at work, or while I'm taking a dump. After the cutting dog eat dog world during the day, you'll are such a contrast of little cute cuddliness. I get the same serotonin rush that I get with hugging animals, I swear. I feel I am transformed somehow to a caricatured world.
Back to the question, and you are not going to believe this but I never learnt shit in school or college. Till the eight grade I always came last in every class. You may find that hard to believe because I now come across as quite a smart ass, and I even completed my masters and nearly did my PHD. But for most of my school life I came last in class.
I used to get zero on 100 many , many times. Then in the end of the 8th grade I suddenly said let me try giving class a shot, I also had a nerd friend to help me. You will not believe it but by the end of the 9th grade I started coming even first in class and even got 100 on 100 many times.
I must be the only cunt who has come first and last in class, and has got 100 on 100 and 0 on 100, and I must say I did not feel dumber or smarter either way. School is all crap. Most of what I learnt I learnt on my own, with a book and a bottle of scotch, reading under a tree. I have read a whole lot of shit, from Kant, to Hegel, to Socrates, to the Bible, to the Quran, and on and on. Can you imagine how much scotch I have drunk? But I never learnt shit in class.
In the time of Plato or the renaissance, or any of the golden phases of learning they never learnt the way they do today, meaning the bullshit system we have today. If you wanted to be a painter or sculptor during time of Davinci, theory was a very small part, mainly, soon after the theory, you would then take an apprenticeship with a master like Michelangelo, or some cat , and then after years with him you would then get a graduation signed by him. On that is what I wish I learnt in school. If you go to engineering school you should come out of school with practical applied hands-on knowledge of your field of study. You should have a trade so to speak. EDUCATION TODAY IS A FARCE.

CPR, basic first aid, and how cross contamination can kill you are only things you learn if they're job specific, or you want to learn them.
Hell, I remember when I was on a date one time and started choking, I felt these gentle soft hands going through the motions and thought, well, this is where I die. Until these big rough mitts wrapped around me and crushed my ribs to pop the food out.
Your last one is interesting too. When I was getting discharged from the Marines we had 2 or 3 days of courses for that, mostly just for re-integrating to the civilian world, like it isn't ok to kick someone's ass if they mess up, or strut your rank that doesn't matter anymore.
I think everything else is situational, like how useful it will be depends on the person, for those who can use it, chances are they're already going that direction. Like learning another language if you're moving to another country, or many from another country are moving to your area, learning more about taxes and the law if you're opening a business, so on and so forth.

Fortunately because I am not American, most of these were covered in my curriculum anyways.

I think being able to be open about your perspectives, share them effectively with others, and also listen actively to others' opinions is handy.

Likewise, teaching kids to identify misinformation and mange their social media habits would go a long way to preventing idiocy later on in life.

Taxes for sure... I got an accounting degree and I'll be honest... most of that shit should've been taught way before finding the value of x and y for a slope... shit you'll never use versus shit you have to do every fucking year for the rest of your life, which should be more important?

The first for sure, I don´t think the last should be taught in school because it´s too vulnerable if you are asked to talk about traumatic experiences in a class room setting. For me the issue with the first is that none of the things I know about finances and accounting I know from school. Since I come from a family where most don´t know much of it either none of them is a good help in such questions.

History is important to learn from both a personal and business perspective as history always repeats itself in one way or another if you understand history you can then predict reasonably accurately how to move to protect your assets and investments.

Risk management and investing. Most people are financially illiterate when they leave school and continue to make bad choices as "investments". It took me 10 years to finally get educated on proper investing and how to manage my risks. I could have learned all that stuff in 2 years if I had been taught that in college.

definitely one of the first two - i love history and i have the internet to learn about more, we were taught french but i can't remember much now so maybe being taught a language from a much younger age, emotional regulation would be nice too i guess but will cross that bridge when i come to it - but i definitely would've benefitted from learning more about budgeting/tax and basic first aid and safety

well we had different ears and perspectives in history (from sumerians to roman empire to inquisition etc.)

we had French German and English

for Internet & Media we only had like 1 extra curriculum session about internet safety (that was in 2008 though) but wished we had more about it

for CPR, basic safety and emergency we had like nothing, though I think it is really necessary, also just had one day where police visited us and showed basic emergency skills in case of a car crash

mental health was almost out of the game, too bad

confidence in sharing own opinion was pretty much respected

budgeting and taxes was also out of the game sadly
