Like me, is there anyone else here who thinks that anime is just childish and lame?

I can understand children liking it, but grown-ups? And is there a correlation between being obsessed with anime, and sitting in front of the computer for hours on end whilst wearing a fedora?

I like some anime, or mostly, just the characters, like ‘Revy’ from ‘Black Lagoon.’

and probably just the theme from ‘Cowboy Bebop.’

I watched a clean Korean anime (with eng subs) of highschool friends, when I was in highschool, but I lost that show. (Sadness 🥲).

I used to watch a Jackie Chan anime with my older brother, but I don’t anymore.

Yeah cuz like if you asked me anything about them I wouldn’t be able to give a simple response 👀👐 and I don't know the bigger ones like Pokémon/ naruto/ dragon ball z/ sailor moon/ titan etc.
Never seen those and anime fans will usually know everything about them, and stay up to date on books and series. They’ll probably have collectibles and do cosplays too ig? 🤷‍♀️ I try to know enough to hold conversation with my anime lover friends 🥲 and fail many times anyways lol

Of course there should be many who don't like it. But you don't have to like it, after all there are countless ways to entertain yourself.

There are anime/manga for every interest and age group, in every genre.

Some are suitable for kids, some are for teens and some are for adults only.

And just because something (not just anime) is mainly made for kids, doesn't mean an adult can't enjoy it.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by anime. If you're just using it as a term for Japanese animation then saying 'anime is childish' is like saying 'books are for adults'. Not every anime is One Piece and not every book is War and Peace. Would you let your kids watch stuff like Attack on Titan, Erased, Psycho Pass, Goblin Slayer or any number of other series with really dark and definitely very adult oriented themes and events. Recently I've re watched Death Parade. It's by far the tamest one I've listed, yet it still features rape, murder, suicide, war criminals and other stuff not exactly meant for kids.

I don't know, maybe. My coworker put one on before that I think was a little darker, but I wasn't really paying attention to it. I thought it was kinda creepy.

I haven't watched Dragon Ball and Naruto since I was a kid and even then I remember I wasn't that big a fan of them

Some do some are the best , if you are a kid it could mean world to you they are like any other entertainment shows you could learn some values..

With any entertainment shows it could be bad or good based on content sometimes even the ridiculous of things can make sense.

Parasyte is an anime itself. Saying something can't be good simply because it is drawn or animated is a weird position but you are free to hold it of course.

I didn't say it wasn't good. The words I used were "lame" and "childish", and you'll see in my update that I can understand why some (like the simple-minded and immature) would latch on to it. My point is that certain things are targeted at certain "demographic groups", as they say. Disneyland is an example, being primarily for families, and Disney shows and movies are usually made for all age groups.
I just find it disturbing that certain adults are drawn to certain things that are clearly aimed at children and/or adolescents, and I'm not just talking about anime here. It makes one wonder what's going on in their minds, how mature they really are.

Well, the word "every" DOES mean all, without exception, with no remainder. I wouldn't even say that "most" people in Japan like anime. That would be like saying that most people in the United States like westerns.
