Why do people believe they have "souls" and that there is an "afterlife", when it is obviously not plausible? Our consciousness is in our BRAIN? (Page 2)
Because as the brain is what defines your personality as a person, if your brain shuts down, there is nothing left of you. Even if there is an afterlife, what is able to pass there won't be you. It cannot be you. And to be honest, they made up the "soul controls the body" thing because they didn't understand the purpose of the brain.
My heart goes out to the actual neuroscientists who will debunk the nonsense that allows us to think there is ANYTHING after death, other than oblivion.
