My boyfriend has a job offer out of state. Should I break it off or try the long distance thing?

My boyfriend and I been together for a year and a half and we are crazy in love. He recently got a job offer out of state to work for. I've tried the long distance deal before and the guy crushed my heart. Since then I haven't been able to get into a serious relationship until I met my current bf. But I fear that this relationship could go down the drain like the other one did. Should I just break up with him before I get my heartbroken again?

Also he had asked me to decide whether or not to accept the job. But I'm not about to tell him to reject it...Its a really big deal for him...

First, it looks like he cares a great deal about you and you are a big part in his life decisions since he asked you about accepting the job or not. Having said that, here are some things you can ask yourself:

1) How long is the distance and would it be possible for you to take turns to visit each other say about at least once every other week?

2) I am sure you had good reasons to fall in love with each other. Should you at least try instead of breaking this off without trying?

3) Long distance really does test your relationship. Have you developed enough trust in each other to deal with it?

4) What would happen if he decides not to take this job? Would there be another opportunity that might be more local?

In any event, if you are considering breaking it off just because of the fear that it may not work, then you should at least try to overcome that fear. I know it's not easy, but he is the reason you are back in love again, right? Why not give it a chance.

You are too young for a long distance relationship. It's hard enough when your significant other resides intown. I think you should focus on being friends, visiting each other and telephone calls but commitment can hurt your relationship in the long run. Good Luck!

If you're really in love you can have long distance relationship. I have been in a long distance relationship myself (we bought a house together now), I know what it's like. Although, it will be hard at times so be prepared. Good luck. x

If you're really "crazy in love", then heartbreak will happen whether you break up with now or later. Why not take the risk and see if things work out? I, personally, believe love should find a way to work if it's meant to be.

That's up to you. But if you're crazy in love (and not infatuated) then doesn't love conquer all barriers and distances? Isn't it worth the risk and don't you trust this person? This is something you have to figure out and decide.
