How normal is it for roommates to see eachother naked?

I just moved into an apartment with some friends from university. I knew them pretty well but we werent besties or anything.
Its my first time living away from home and I do like it but I was shocked at how open they are.

I mean its not like they are all just chilling in their birthday suites. But like for instance the shower has an unofficial open door policy. If someone is showering and somebody else wants to use the mirror or basin etc they will just walk into the bathroom and chat like its no big deal. I almost had a heart attack the first time it happened to me.

Or they will strip in the laundry and put their washing on and walk from there to their bedroom in the nude.

Im used to it now but I still dont know how "normal" it is.
Is this nomal anywhere?
Or am I living with a bunch of crazies?

its normal. i remember when i lived with another roommate in my university years, she would just walk into the bathroom while i was showering too. whether it was to do her makeup or whatever. she would just walk in, and start up a convo with me while i was showering. i thought it was weird because i grew up in a home where if somebody is using the bathroom, you go to the other one or wait your turn. my roommate would also walk around half naked, either with a shirt and no pants, or vice versa. eventually i got used to it. but I'm assuming they're doing it because they're not under "parental supervision" whereas their parents would probably be disgusted and not happy about it and wouldn't let them do that. i remember asking my roommate why she did it, and thats what she told me. and honestly, sometimes i do it too

I don't care about being naked in front of another woman lol.

I've gone naked in changing rooms and friends houses without a care.

I have no feelings for women so its easy peasy :-)

Only time I wouldn't do it, if the girl was mean and narcissistic in matters if appearance.

I understand the heart attack. I won't allow my male family or friends to see me naked. I found a way to even avoid the locker room problem by wearing a tee shirt and changing pants first.

way I see it is you basically have a mini woman's locker room. don't make a big deal but don't participate if you don't want, this is an example of "my body my choice". By the same token, you need to respect their right to choose of you want to be respected, play it cool and let them be naked though if you want the shower then discuss it kindly with them. decent roommates will be able to talk.

There's nothing wrong with that. Being comfortable with nudity is a positive thing. I was nude with my roommates through college as well. Honestly, once you stop caring about covering up all the time it makes life a lot easier.
