Why is my sister such a jealous bitch?

She does things to deliberately irritate me.

like when I’m in a room she’ll turn the lights off before going. Or she’ll try to flirt with some random guy on front of me to show me she’s better and can captivate his agtention

in fact I have never met someone in my whole life who is hell bent on proving me to me she is better

These examples seem flimsy, how do you know she's flirting with guys to annoy you? She might just be doing it cause she likes it?

The lights thing seems like silly sibling play. I do stuff to annoy my brothers all the time, and they do the same to me. That's just how families are.

she believes you are better than her, chances are that you're way better in most regards than her.
she might be able to get their attention easier and keep it longer but watch what happens when they find out how she is.

ignore her, she'll get extremely annoyed and frustrated, don't buy into it, buying into it is exactly what she wants.

But even when I ignore her it has no effect on her.

It's just the way some people make themselves feel good. It just so happens to feel a lot worst that its your sibling.

Usually something triggers the behaviour. I could have been a single incident or multiple where she felt invisible when she wanted attention or someone jealous of her made her feel bad. Then once she decides to claim the spotlight she gets thrills from driving you mad. Sibling rivalry adds a level to the thrill to make it worst.

I think its more appropriate to say she is or was Envious of you and the continued behaviour is a result of not being able to move on from that state. Envy and jealousy are actually quite different things.

What is the difference I thought they are almost the same

Jealousy there needs to be a tangible object that she desires which is in your possession. Envy is intangible. Your looks, the way people see you or treat you. Envy is harder to let go of because its not simple to obtain what can't be touched.

No she's afraid that she is less than you. I've been learning that's what bullies do to people. It's definitely not you. I thought it was me too when I get bullied but it's really not. Hope that helps.

Oh well i have older and younger sisters sometime i do weird things around them to get their attention plus even though my older sister and i are very different i still really respect her
